Love it!!! October 19, 2007 Berkeley Kid (Berkeley, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This water bottle is great. Not only is it light and the perfect size, it just lets you have such great-tasting water all the time. I don't take soap to my water bottle a lot, to be honest, because it always just has water in it. With this, unlike with a nalgene, you can just kindof rinse and refill and it always tastes great! Not only that, but water stays so cold. And, it's cute :) which isn't a must, but definitely a plus.
Substitute for plastic water bottles.... November 15, 2007 HappyMommy (Woodland Hills, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Sigg makes an amazing variety of different colors and designs and sizes - which of course is great. After hearing about all the chemicals, toxins and bacteria (normal washing just can't get out) of plastic water bottles, I switched to this. Water tastes different....it tastes like WATER now...you'll be amazed after switching. You can also use it for juices and other drinks althought not recommended for milk or carbonated drinks. I've also received many compliments - I guess it's considered kind of "chic." Children love it - they have kids designs too, and even my husband likes his. I'm buying one for everyone on my Xmas list this year. Being able to reuse these bottles without toxins, chemicals, and bacteria is great for you, but it also saves you money and it's economical for Earth. You'll be happy if you buy one. P.S. Seller Backcountry Edge will get these to you a lot faster than if you order directly from Sigg USA - because they have to wait for their shipments to arrive from Switzerland. And they had great customer service.
slightly scuffed January 15, 2008 J. Conant (Crofton, MD USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a good quality product but unfortunately mine arrived in a slighly scuffed condition. Kind of like it was the last one in stock and had been rolling around on the shelf for a while. Not worth the hassle of returning it though- works fine.
Siggy-siggy February 22, 2008 J. Savell (CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This bottle kicks ten kinds of a**. I bought it for my g-friend as a b-day gift (I know, I'm a cheap man). Nonetheless, she praised it to the high heavens. I took into account the other reviews and FAQ's about the bottle (don't pour in boiling hot water, blah, blah, blah), which is probably important stuff. I must admit the water from this thing tastes awesome. Even if it is tepid, it still tastes as though it is cool, making it very refreshing, not unlike the feeling you get from those sweet, sweet Junior Mints. I assume if you don't do anything retarded with it and simply use it as it is intended to be used, you'll do fine. Big ups for Sigg!
BPA-Free, Beautiful Sigg Bottle! June 5, 2008 O. Brown (Twopeas, WA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
***** This is an upscale designer water bottle, top of the line in every way. The designs of Sigg's water bottles are gorgeous--even the plain, solid color bottles are beautiful--but the ones with designs are even better, in my opinion. This is a pretty sunray design done in metallic colors. I switched from regular plastic water bottles because of health concerns, even though I thought a permanent bottle like this would take more work to maintain. These do necessitate regular cleaning (I clean mine every day), but having something so beautiful to drink from makes the cleaning less of a chore. Sort of like my rings, glasses, and watch, I now consider my Sigg personal water bottle a vital accessory, reminding me to drink more water, making a statement about my values, and expressing myself with a special design. Sigg of Switzerland water bottles are very high quality, made of light aluminum on the outside, slightly insulated, and covered with a special powder coat on the inside that prevents any leaching whatsoever, unlike plastic and polycarbonate water bottles. They are light, durable, and perfect for any activity. Well water tastes spectacular in these bottles, just like from the tap. They do dent if dropped on a hard surface at a particular angle, but Sigg fans (including me) view this as a type of "seasoning", so that your bottle acquires character. The dents are on the outside layer of the bottle, not the inside layer and so don't interfere with any functionality. Sigg bottles come with several different types of tops. This bottle has a screw top, which I prefer. I don't mind unscrewing the top when I want a drink. It is totally leak proof, which is important to me. The top is pretty and can be hooked onto a carabineer. If you ever lose the top, you can buy them separately. Sigg makes their personal water bottle in many sizes. I use the .6L size as my basic every day size, and keep it in my briefcase. It is a bit too large for my purse, although if you carry a tote it is an ideal size. It is also good for sports activities that require less water, like shorter walks. For my car and other uses I use the larger 1L size. This bottle may seem expensive, but it is so durable that you can plan on it lasting many years. I consider Sigg bottles both an accessory and an investment in my health, so they are well worth it value-wise for me. Note that Sigg water bottles should not be used to contain boiling water, as this will damage the outer coating. They also cannot be left in the freezer, as it may crack. They can be used for carbonated beverages, if you leave about a half inch of room at the top. Highly recommended. *****
