Great for freeing up space! October 8, 2005 M. Sowell 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I finally got rid of all my jewel cases and decided I needed room, living in a tiny little apartment. I had over 200 CDs and you can understand that I was choosy about where I put them! After months of browsing around and reading reviews, I chose this one and I'm glad I did! It holds CDs and CD covers and there's plenty of room for them all without any of them getting crushed! I kind of wish that the spirals were metal like a binder so that I could organize the sheets as I got more CDs. The plastic rings open in the front and are a bit of a hassle to lock and unlock but it's still handy. The fabric is soft so it won't scratch up my CDs and the case it's self is very stylish. A leathery cover that looks classy and a good zipper. I'm a bit worried about the handle as it's not really attached to the case. It's just slipped between two straps with wide ends to keep it from slipping out. I think that if it was completely fully the handle might slip off but so far so good!
Won't take your liner notes. November 27, 2005 Bill from SF (California) 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
I just purchased this item - now I'm planning to return it tomorrow. One of the advertised features, the ability to store liner notes just doesn't work properly. They just don't into the pocket without bending and/or forcing them in. To me, the liner notes have value and I'm not willing to fold, spindle, or otherwise mutilate them to fit them into the wallet.
Great storage. February 21, 2007 Vivy 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a great case. The negative reviews are valid, but this case works well for me. I only find this new design only slightly uglier than the old one, which I had a few years ago but got rid of because I didn't need it at the time. I have yet to see a large-capacity cd wallet that isn't hideous and a nuisance to keep cds organized in to some degree. I'm partial to keeping cds in their jewel cases with all the inserts, since they are easiest to keep alphabetized that way. But recently I've had to switch to a different storage solution, as I have at least 1000 cds and moved to a tiny apartment. I also expect to move a couple times more, so I needed something portable. I found this case to be one of the best for storing a large collection. Pros: 1) Movable pages (a must for me); 2) Zippered (very important in my very dusty apartment); 3) Has a nice handle for portability; 4) soft sleeves that don't scratch my cds Cons: 1) the plastic sleeves, since soft, aren't that sturdy, so probably would tear if slightly abused; 2) Can only hold very thin cd inserts just like all other cd wallets. You have to store each insert sideways so they fit in the sleeve, or store them separately like I do (I have too many thick inserts).
not as happy December 28, 2006 dad2 (Oregon) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I am not as happy with the new design...like the older much better...there was better quality in the old ones
Beware, this new design is HORRIBLE June 16, 2007 Peter Kelley 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
i have 4 of the older versions of this case. They are great. The new cases are awful. The new design uses cheaper materials, ugly brown stitching instead of the original black on black. the new handle is cheap and feels like it is going to rip out, you can no longer slide a label in the "easy-view" spine because there is no longer a place to insert labels I use to have no problem paying more money for these Case Logic cases over the other brands because the quality WAS exceptional. Now they are just as cheaply made as the other companies, but still have the high price tag hopefully Case Logic reads these reviews and bring back the old design next year.... until then i guess i'll just have to spend my time searching ebay for the old version of these cases
