5 out of 5 stars Some Great Features - Light Weight A Big Plus   May 26, 2007

I received this WG150 in exchange for the WG103 I had bought. The problem I had with the WG103 was the string kept snapping back in the spool housing. Very frustrating. When I contacted the manufacturer they immediately offered assitance with the WG150. Wow, what a difference. The WG150 is so light and quiet. Was pleasantly surprised at how long the battery charge lasted on my quarter acre of land. Love the ability to convert easily to an edger and the ease of handling. Am so glad that the company backed their product and was easy to work with in resolving the problems I was having with the WG103. A real plus since instead of giving the WG150 a 4 star because of the 10" wide cutting path I am giving it a 5 because of the company backing and assisting the consumer. Thank you WORX.

4 out of 5 stars Fair price good product   June 24, 2007

I order the WORX GT after seeing the infomercial a multitude of times,Finally I ordered one and gave up on all of my trimming for a month.By the way the neighbors loved me for this,to see what kind of abuse this machine would take. When it finally arrived and I opened the box and minor assembly was required but simple for anyone you Need one Phillipp's screwdriver for one screw. Also a DVD if you didn't understand the instructions.I was impressed oh god forgive me for saying this but the quality of the plastic. It was actually heaver then I expected,Especially the battery. After an hour on the charger off we went.I was very impressed It took down weeds that where 6inches high and 1/4 inch thick.I was pretty certain I would wreck the machine and be getting a refund. That was kinda the plan. The edger although awkward to position this machine into the edger it works well as both and they where even smart enough to put guidelines on the safety guard.Overall good tool but I don't think I'll sell my gas trimmer anytime soon.

Pros:
Two tools in one $100 only gets you an edger some places
Light weight and extremely portable
Decent battery time about 20-25 minutes
Auto feeding Head
Edger leaves lawn looking neat and clean
Three spools of line included
One hour charger
Fold away spacer

Cons:
Changing positions and from trimmer to edger I fell are award and a little clumsy
Free Replacement"For Life" line is 9.99 For two or three spools No thanks I'll buy bulk line and wind the spools myself
Little too short me I believe and I'm 6'2"
Can't wash with hose or pressure washer
I Wish it was A 20 or 24 Volt for a little more run time
Edger wheels need to be 1/4-1/2 inch larger for smoother movement through situations such as broomed concrete

No power at all, Very poor performer, They talked me into buying a second battery and now I know why, it runs low on power within 10 minutes.

The telescoping shaft is a nice feature but only if you are 4'7" is it of any use. Fully extended it is too short for the average person.

I am waiting a refund!

B&D grasshog is a much better unit, I had my last one for 4 years before I needed to replace it and then late one night, I got sucked into the worx infomercial.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Edger for small yard   June 11, 2007

The trimmer rocks. We have a small yard with about 400 feet of edging. We had an electric trimmer, but I often skipped edging because of the inconvience of dealing with all the cords. So the solution became obvious to look for a battery operated unit (Gas would have been overkill).

I was hesitant to buy the unit because their website has an infomercial feel to it. So I ordered it via another vendor because of their overly generous return policy expecting to return it.

I setup the unit, charged the battery, and I was edging. It took several passes to get the lawn edged since it had been 4 months since I last edged. My old corded one would have taken several passes as well. I had figured the battery would not last. It almost made it through a complete 40 minutes before the battery finally gave up. The ergonomics are great. I can edge without being hunched over and it is comfortable than past units for tall people.

I agree with other reviewers about it not having that much power as a gas trimmer. Duh! The power is slightly less than my old corded Black

It's nice not to have to use a cord but has very little power even thou the TV add goes on and on about how powerful it is. They compare it to gas weed eaters, it's not even in the same ball park. People that stated in their reviews that is great must never have had another trimmer. I was going to get rid of my old cord machine but will keep it for most of my yard work and use this thing just for the lite weight jobs that are out of the cord range. Normal use of the battery is less than 10 min. and you have to run the battery down to were it stops or it will form a memory. I have battery drills that the batteries do not form a memory, so it shows that Worx's in not up to today's newest tech. I would not by this if I could have tried it out first.
This is an addition to what I wrote last fall, over the weekend I put one of my batteries in the charger a few hours later I came home and found my shop full of smoke. The battery had got so hot that it was distorted and the charger was burned out. I called the worx's line and was told that the battery and charger only was covered by warranty for 30 days and that it would cost over $50.00 for a new charger and over $40.00 for a new battery plus shipping and handling, so it would cost more than $100.00 to replace them. After this I wish that there was something less than 1 star. I would not recommend this to any one, thous like me that bought this please be careful when charging the battery, it can be dangerous.
