Completly dissapoiting September 11, 2007 J. Schwartz (farmingdale, ny United States) 21 out of 23 found this review helpful
I had seen the infomercials for this product. I wanted something that my wife and kids could use to help out with the lawn, and this looked perfect. However, it was completely dissapointing. It had no power, the cord did not seem to feed properly, it would not edge neatly as shown. I returned it, and will probably replace with a gas powered unit again.
disappointed August 10, 2007 Eva Hernandez (new york city) 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
I ordered the grass trimmer. I used it the first day. When I put the battery to charge It did not turn red.I had to wait another week for the a new charger and It did not work either. I thought now it's the battery. They said no, it's the charger. How lucky am I to get 2 bad chargers... I am sending it back, Am out $ 60.OO, because of the shipping cost and I have nothing to show for my money. With the money I spent on shipping I could have brought an electric one. They claim the spools are free but only send 2, now you have to pay shipping for the other "free" ones. Don't buy...
Completely unacceptable. September 9, 2007 J. Miller 19 out of 21 found this review helpful
Painfully weak. Takes 4 or 5 passes to do the work normally done in one pass. Takes forever. Line often slips back into spool and can't be retrieved without disassembling it. Useful charge lasts less than 30 minutes and weakens slowly. Will not recharge, unless fully discharged, which means you have to hold it on forever while it slowly grinds to a halt (the manual even suggests that!). Good idea, but simply does not work. More of a toy than a tool. I'm seeking a full refund.
Worx WG150 Cordless line trimmer/edger August 23, 2007 Steve P. Evernham (Birch River, WV) 18 out of 21 found this review helpful
I am 63, and wanted a light weight cordless for two reasons, one to reduce my carbon foot print to help our environment and two the gas models were too heavy and I wanted a light weight cutter. The Worx WG150 fit the bill for both. It has adjustable handles so you can find a comfortable grip for cutting. I don't have a lot of area to trim so this unit will do all I have on one battery charge. It does not compare however to a gasoline driven weed eater when it comes to power. The Worx cuts great with a fully charged battery but the cutting capacity goes down as the battery charge goes down. I got a spare battery so if I needed to use it longer I could swap out the battery. After you use up about 3/4 of the battery charge it is useless. Some have complained about having to frequently recharge the battery or say the battery has a short charge life but I have found if you follow Worx's instructions and fully discharge the battery before recharging that it last a long time. It is a pain in the butt to stand there and hold the trigger long enough to discharge the battery however.
Works pretty well so far May 14, 2007 D. Young 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
This is the first cordless line trimmer that I have owned. It is working pretty well so far on the grass in our small yard. I previously owned a Sears Craftsman gas powered trimmer when we owned a much larger property. The Worx cuts fine through grass, but I'm guessing it will have a tough time with larger weeds. Believe it or not it is actually kind of nice not having as much power because it does not throw grass/rocks/dirt everywhere like the Craftsman did. I love that it is electric and cordless as I can take it out of the garage and trim our yard in about the same time as I would have spent getting the gas trimmer filled with fuel, started and warmed up. A little more power and a larger cutting area would be nice, but it is working fine so far on our small yard (10-15 minutes to trim). It would be interesting to compare to the Black and Decker 18V GrassHog 12" trimmer.
