Works great for my needs November 6, 2007 J. Schneider (Mosinee, WI United States) 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I see some good reviews and some not so good out here... I think for edging their commerical may have made it seem better than it really is; but for trimming it's great: I don't know what the people are doing who say it can't handle thick grass: this will take out weeds with quarter inch thick stems, and it scoffs at mere grass. Anyway, and that is my main use: standard trimming in a large yard, and a good bit of weed whacking. It has held up great thus far (two complete seasons).
Enjoy it May 23, 2007 J. Williams (Charlotte, NC) 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I received a Worx GT for my birthday a couple weeks ago and love it! I have used it a few times and loaned it to my neighbors who were envying me as I walked around trimming. We could not believe how quiet and light it was and easy to use on our yards. Also like the guide wheel on the edger and ability to quickly change back and forther between trimmer and edger. The battery never lost charge after we all used it - plus no gas mix or pull start! We have not used it yet on tall grasses or clearing large growth just around the sidewalks, driveways and gardens. I hope you all buy this becuase you will forget about the gas can and heavy pull start trimmers real fast.
Meets my needs, like the edger, line feed could be better June 23, 2007 Craig (Braintree, MA USA) 13 out of 14 found this review helpful
Overall, I like the product so far. I had used electric ones before. I found the Sears machines had problems with the start switch. I went through two machines in two years and had issues with putting on new line. The Black and Decker one worked pretty well and the line lasted until I broke the machine. I found the battery a little challenging to put on and take off. This time, I bought the Worx because I liked the idea of the edger and the ability to change the angle of the head so I went with the Worx this time. My son who is 11 likes the bells and whistles so he thinks it's "sick" and likes to help out. I'm primarily just trimming grass on my New England, 9,000 sq ft property. The trimmer has a safety switch. The problem with the safety switch is that it feeds the line everytime you use it. If you start and stop the machine alot, you will use up the line quickly. My answer is don't stop the machine until done. Since, I'm only cutting grass, the line doesn't wear out. Will see how it endures.
For women, this is a must! July 23, 2007 C. Wilkinson (Fort Hood, TX USA) 12 out of 14 found this review helpful
If you do the yardwork, or help with the yardwork, you know what back breaking work it is to start and use a gas powered weed eater or edger. This baby solves all of those problems. The line self feeds, it grows taller or shorter with just a pull and click, you can change the machine to any angle you feel comfortable using, the heavy parts are near the ground, you don't have to lift your arms or elbows up at all, it starts and stops with the push of a button - no lawnmower pulls or gas pouring, and you can even edge the sidewalk with it. Get 2 batteries though - it runs out after about 30 minutes.
Love this product May 7, 2007 Melissa (Nebraska, USA) 11 out of 12 found this review helpful
My husband and I got this product and fell in love with it the first time we used it. I have never weed-whacked or edged a yard before and this product made it easy. It is very light weight and I never once had to mess with the line spool. Between the weed whacking and the trimming, it did the job exactly as I hoped it would. We have a big yard, approx. 4000 sq. ft., and I was able to do the whole yard. That really impressed me, especially since we had not done that kind of work to the yard since we moved in and that was back in September. I will recommend this product to anyone looking for a new trimmer.
