Terrific measuring tool! February 15, 2008 Bill McCreary (Palmer, AK USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
As a land surveyor I appreciate the compact size, rugged construction and accuracy of this device. It can be used in three measuring modes; metric, feet/inches/fractional inches and decimal feet - which I use for my work. It really does measure to a 1/16th inch. I think Spectra Precision, a manufacturer of survey instruments, makes the DLR165K for Bosch. Spectra Precision makes the same unit with their name on it, in a different color, and calles it the HD50 which sells for $179. The Bosch presently sells through Amazon for $144.46. Specs are the same. Why pay more? I have the Bosch and love it!
Small package. Big help! November 25, 2007 Tool Junkie 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
Convenience and great engineering make this THE BARGAIN of lASER RANGEFINDERS. This will decrease my time spent measuring for cuts in tiling and baseboard dramatically. Accuacy is as advertised which is better than I get with a steel tape. This item is so adaptable it will be fun to see how many ways it impacts my work.
Excellent Rangefinder July 13, 2008 Dr. Richard J. Harris 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is an excellent and inexpensive rangefinder, perfect for measuring without having to use an unwieldly tape measure. The first time I used it to take measurements of my new home, I checked it with a tape to assure myself that it was accurate. In every instance the rangefinder proved to be exactly the same as the tape. You can measure from the front, middle (tripod), back, or on an extension from the unit for corners. I found it very easy to use right out of the box and the instruction manual is straightforward and easily understood. One word of caution, as with all laser instruments, is to make certain that the laser does not shine directly into the eye or in a reflection from a mirror into the eye. The digital readout can be changed from feet into metric, and can be read as fractions of an inch, or tenths of an inch. A nice accessory to keep in the workshop.
Bosch makes great products January 30, 2008 David (Illinois) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
...and this is one of them. I use this in tough, dirty construction site conditions. Works well, even with thin gloves on. Good battery life. Better precision than other units on the market in the $75-$150 price range.
Don't know how I got by without one! April 5, 2008 Bruce MacMahon (New Hampshire, USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Simply amazing product. Not to turn into a Bosch cheerleader, but they have yet to disappoint me. I do kitchen design and remodeling. Now, it takes me all of a minute or two to get all my interior wall dimensions taken down to get my computer model started. Try measuring the interior width of a dark closet full of clothes and boxes without one. No more need to ask someone to hold "the dumb end" of the tape measure for you. Just don't throw away that old Stanley 25' just yet. Seriously, I'd give this 100 stars if it was an option.
