Thrilled with my purchase! July 14, 2008 Gardningirl 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I was pleasantly surprised with the quality and POWER of this mower! It runs so quietly, yet cuts through the deep grass on our large lot. I was so pleased with the battery power as well...I easily mowed the entire yard without having to recharge, or ending up with lack of power. I also found that the collection bag is easy to remove. I wasn't sure about buying a lawn mower online. But now, after my experience with the great customer service and product quality from Jack's, I'm thrilled with this purchase. I give Jack's Tool Shed an A+ in service and quality. Thanks Jack's :)
Save your money and your time - PIECE OF JUNK August 7, 2008 Kathy L. Tompkins (Central PA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wanted to love this. The concept of a cordless electric mower is fantastic. I have a corded electric right now and hate having to deal with the cord. I have an irregular shape to my property and lots of landscaping, so I thought this would be nirvana. However, on the first pass on my lawn the right front wheel fell off and went rolling down the sidewalk. Imagine my dismay and my embarassment! I tried to put it back on, but it wouldn't stay on. At first I was going to resign myself to using the old mower, but after pushing this to the garage I thought "well, if I could push it this far maybe I could push it around the yard". So, I was the laughing stock of my neighborhood pushing my new mower around on 3 wheels. Not only that, the cut was terrible. I swear to God that I heard blades of grass chuckle as they popped back up. I had to make 2, sometimes 3 passes before the lawn even had a semblance of looking good. I contacted Jack's and was assured that if I got a replacement wheel it would stay on. So, I replaced the wheel. No good. I just got back in from trying this piece of junk a second time. Again, the wheel fell off and I pushed the mower around on three wheels. And, again, it took 2 or 3 passes to look decent. I had such high hopes, but I HATE this thing. It is easily the very worst mower I have ever used. I'm 47 years old and have used lots of mowers. This is the worst! I would love to send it back, but it's so heavy it would cost a small fortune to do so. I think I'm better off trying to devise some way to keep the wheel on and sell it in the local paper for whatever I can get. I wish someone would just steal it. At least I could make an insurance claim on it! Please, do yourself a favor and save your money. This is a great idea and had potential, but it is a terrible product. Maybe in a year or two they will have improved on it and it will be worth considering, but this would not be a good acquision even if it was free. By the way - this is the very first time I have ever given a negative review to anything I've purchased. That should tell you how strongly I feel about warning people about this item.
Mpl mower August 11, 2008 J. Behrens 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The MPL electric mower worked great the first two times I used it. I was afraid a battery mower would not have the power I needed to mow my 3/4 acre yard that consists of native bunch grasses, but it cut the grass just fine even though it was getting pretty long. The mower is kind of heavy for a light weight like me to push around but I was able to do it. Unfortunately the third time I used it the mower would not start - I have no idea what the problem is. So I called the manufacturer and they sent out a new mower right away to replace the malfunctioning one. So they stand behind their products. You do not have to worry that this mower can get the job done and if you do have problems with it, the company will make things right.

Great mower August 16, 2008 Recluse (Hastings, Fl United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just finished mowing the swale area of my half acre yard and I am so happy. The grass has been cut beautifully. The mower almost stalled on a patch of tall grass but made a fine recovery. The grass in the tall patch was somewhere around 4 inches which for a regular mower may not be such a challenge but this is an electric mower. I had no problem assembling the mower and I did not need to adjust the height since I wanted it at the lowest setting. The green light came on after an approximate 28 hour charge time. Jacks Toolshed sent an email with special instructions prior to delivery. I started the mower as instructed in the email by pushing the black lever forward, and not touching the wire bale stop. I realize this is contrary to most mowers that use the wire bale to engage the mower blades but this is not the case with this mower. I am extremely pleased with this purchase at this time. It is my hope that it will continue to function well and at this time I fully expect that it will.
