I could be considered an audiophile or nut. My home system cost about $8,000 and my car about $6,000. For the money, size, easy of use...these little speakers are really quite good. My only suggestion would be to back off the bass around 125Hz. I am sure they are using some internal EQ to artificially boost the bass but this gives the speakers a boomy/fake mid-bass.
Doesn't work on Toshiba L25-S119 with XP SP2. January 8, 2006 Gabi's Dad (Florida) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
I've experienced nothing but trouble with these speakers stuttering after a few minutes of play. I've tried everything suggested by Logitech support, but nothing has worked. I don't think it's the speakers, though, because they work fine on my Windows 2003 Server computer. I've gotten all the latest drivers, but nothing has helped. I have to assume that there is an incompatibility with this Toshiba laptop that is not readily discernible. The speakers sound fine (much better than the tinny built-in speakers) up until they start stuttering.
Great speakers for a laptop. Fantastic Value!!! August 9, 2007 Gadget Queen 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
After reading some of the reviews, I was very skeptical when I bought these speakers--I almost didn't buy them! The speakers that came on my laptop were very weak, and barely audible at times--with no hardware glitches. Making listening to music or watching DVD's an almost worthless exercise in futility. On connecting these speakers (wire lengh was NOT an issue with me), I found that the quality of sound from these speakers to be a pleasant surprise! The depth of sound is incredible (from such small boxes), and rivals that of dedicated sound systems. Tones are crisp and clear, with good differentiation and clarity. The only con (if you can call it that) is that at very high volumes, the bass seems to crackle a bit. However, if you are listening at that level, your hearing is in jeapordy. All in all, a good, PORTABLE, value for an addition to a laptop! If you are an audiophile, you might be disappointed with ANYTHING less than concert quality. Since the rest of us live outside a concert hall, these speakers will do nicely!
Great for presentations February 26, 2006 Quiggles (Surrey, UK) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
Whenever I do presentations I have in the past had to lug around speakers, cables and power supplies - these beauties comes in their own case and connect to the pc via USB, and get the sound signal and power via this cable - it doesn't get easier and great sound quality.....
Perfect laptop speakers March 19, 2006 C. Broughton (Florida) 8 out of 9 found this review helpful
I was very pleased with the sound range and quality of the Logitech V20 Speakers. They are very well made and function perfectly, giving surprisingly high quality performance for a USB-type speaker set up. A perfect escape from the ridiculous built-in speaker that comes with most laptops. They're compact, sharp-looking and easy to connect.
