This bird feeder is terrific. Birds love it, squirrels have no chance. It's not perfectly easy to fill without spilling because of the narrow opening, but this just provides a nibble (or a tease?) for the squirrels.

I purchased this product after having a "Yankee Flipper" with an unreliable battery. It also seems that some squirrels LIKE to spin on the Flipper, draining the battery. Finally, after less than 5 months, the battery failed to even hold a charge. So I decided to look for a method which is not reliant on a power source to deter squirrels. In addition, I was having problems with nuisance birds like grackles parking themselves in the feeder and emptying it quick.
The Brome Squirrel Buster Plus is the definitive answer. While my squirrels have long ago been foiled by my old feeder which was coupled with a baffle, there was no easy way to deter birds like grackles and mourning doves. The weight controlled method used by the Squirrel Buster is perfect and can be adjusted to accomodate, or deter, birds ot varying sizes. And it worked like a dream. Grackles no longer can feed from the feeder, and must be content to pick up seed that has fallen on the ground. Same for the mourning doves. It also appears that since there isn't much feed on the ground anymore, they've pretty much moved on. And I'm actually using less feed.
So I give this product an A+. It's worth every penny!

This feeder is a quality product. It can be adjusted to exclude heavier birds and is easy to refill. The product also arrived shortly after order was placed.

Have had feeder hanging for about a month now and the squirrels haven't figured it out ,yet!
The cardinals are returning, it took them a while to perch on the ring,and the rose breasted grosbeaks love it.
We're glad that we bought it,.......thank you

I've had the bird feeder for several months now. The closing mechanism works as advertised, sliding closed each time a squirrel perches on the ring. Unfortunately, however, the squirrels chewed right through the metal lid. I'll be contacting the manufacturer and hopefully get a refund or a replacement part. If not, I don't know what I'll do. The birdfeeder is useless now, as the birdseed will get wet when it rains.
