It's not that I HAVE to have a Weber cover for my Weber grill, but when I looked around (Sept 2007), it was the best price for a cover that would fit. It's brand new, so too early to tell how it will hold up; I use my grill year 'round. (At 45 bucks, I HOPE it lasts at least several seasons!) It has one odd feature: a narrow, horizontal, mesh vent of some sort on the front, near the top. Looks like my grill is wearing a berka! Not sure why this is here. I suppose it could allow air to pass thru on windy days so the cover is less likely to blow off? But it also seems like a way for rain/snow to get in. And isn't stopping the elements the reason for a cover in the first place? A mystery. Anyway, so far, so good.

I only rated this cover 4 stars because I really don't know what a 5 star grill cover is supposed to be. I purchased it because my neighbor has one and it has lasted much longer than the cheap universal grill cover that I was using. I does fit much better than the universal grill cover and it looks much nicer.

The Weber 9857 Premium Gas Grill cover was the perfect fit for my Weber Grill, The Platinum 1200. I wasn't sure which cover to order, but I found out by contacting the Weber site directly and was given the correct number to order. Amazon.com had the best price for the cover. Way to go, Amazon!
