Actual size = 58 x 54 x 1/2 inches
Yes, I wanted a throw long enough to cover my feet...that's why I ordered it. 58" is not 75" and I'll struggle to find a use for it. I wish Amazon could have been more accurate!

It's more furry than fuzzy. The front side is almost like a shag rug. There isn't anything "micro" about it. It's kind of Austin Powers, baby.
So is the color - the sand color isn't sand at all, really, it has way too much gold in it. The photo is about right on my screen, so ignore the "Sand" name and just look at the color.
It's an odd size, 50 x 60, too squarish and not long enough.
It's OK for the sale price, but there are lots of similar prices on this type of thing.
Pinzon is the Amazon house brand, btw.

I bought this item as a gift in Sage although I was shipped Espresso. No big deal. It's not the blanket's fault, and after all I am here to rate the blanket and not Amazon's shipping preparation process. I digress. . .
I bought the throw when it was in the Gold Box (The "deal of the day" some would call it) for $9.99. I figured that for that price I could give it as a gift even if it turned out to be not quite as nice as the earlier posters had mentioned. Worst case scenario, my dogs have a new warm and cozy kennell blanket.
So the blanket arrives and I have to feel just to see if it really is as soft as I read. I was amazed. It is the same texture and softness as the baby blankets that people force you to feel and say "Oh my gosh! Can you believe how soft this is?!? I wish they made these in big-people sizes!"
Needless to say the throw was never wrapped. It was unfurled on my sofa the day it arrived. This morning I climbed back into bed after the kids had opened their gifts and I took it with me since it was so cold. I put it on top of the comforter and it really held in the heat. It is great used alone, or layered in your bed.
I will definitely be checking back to see when this item is on sale in any color. I see that Aubergine is in stock for a few dollars more than I spent originally. Maybe if I order that color I will finally get my Sage throw ;)

I received my "Aubergine" today:
It is a weird color. I would not exactly call it purple. It's more brown. When you hold it up to the "Espresso" it looks more purple than when you look at it alone, but it still looks kind of "purpelly-brown". I think the best way to describe it would be that espresso=dark chololate and aubergine=milk chocolate.
My seven year old son, when asked, described the throw as "brownish-purple".
In the kitchen, under harsh flourescent lighting, where I will never use the throw, it looks more purple than in regular lighting.
All that said, I really like the color. It's just more brown that I thought it was going to be. I guess I was expecting more of an Amethyst tone and this is more brown than that. It is really pretty, and I think it is actually softer than the espresso. The spice has been the softest so far. I didn't think there would be any difference because of the colors but there does seem to be. I even had my assistant (said seven year old son) feel them and rate them. He agreed with he winner being spice, then aubergine, then espresso. Still, the espresso is super soft and you really have to be neurotic (or have a neurotic mother) and into textures to be able to tell there is a difference.

General Information
These throws wash WONDERFULLY! This is a big plus, since so many throws and blankets require dry-cleaning.
The underside seems to be a little less "fluffy" than the top, though it is still super-sofy. I would describe it as more "fuzzy" than "fluffy".
The seams are nicely secured, with coordinating (slightly lighter colored) sturdy stitches.
I have experienced no piling or loose fibers with these throws. I have actually tried to pull a few strands out and could not.
I am going to order more of these as they are available to give as gifts. You will not be disapointed with this throw. And if you are, I will give you my shipping address.

I recently gave this throw (sand colored) to some friends for Christmas. I was looking for something that would be soft and warm for chilly winter nights (this throw definitely fits the bill). When my friends' 6-month-old daughter couldn't get enough of it (the soft texture is pretty mesmerizing), I knew that it had passed the test of one of the toughest critics in the house.

I got two of these when they were $10 and it was well worth it. I use mine everyday to snuggle up on the couch and watch TV. Washes very well...I have to wash mine every few days because the dogs like it too.
