Good for high pressure systems May 18, 2008 Neildo (SLC, UT United States) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I am using this timer on a garden sprinkler system that requires 115 PSI. Originally, I purchased another Orbit watering timer (w/ 2 dials) but it could not handle high pressure above 80PSI and allowed water to leak through the valve. I exchange it for this model a couple weeks ago and haven't had any issues with leaking water. I believe the manual rates this timer up to 80PSI though.
Garden Water Timer June 2, 2008 Gordon W. Jones 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is my second unit of this brand and type and so far it is the most dependable, versatile and durable timer I have used. The only negative is the fragile display cover. The clock is accurate with easy to read instructions.
A well-designed product July 19, 2008 John N. Haas 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This automatic valve is a very well-designed product. It is professional in appearance and construction. The programming is well thought out and simple to accomplish. Furthermore, you can remove the programming unit and take it to a comfortable place to set it up. I have tried two different Melnor products which were not only cheaply constructed, but in both cases had manufacturing defects and didn't work.
Orbit Lawn & Garden Hose Digital Watering Timer And Valve #62001 August 16, 2008 D. Castillo (Phoenix, Az) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was trying to avoid having to install an electric powered watering timer and did research on battery powered watering timers. Most of the reviews indicated that this product worked very well. I purchased in June 2008 and the product has held up very well even in 108+ deg days in sunny Arizona. The control module is very easy to remove from the valve unit in order to program, programming is easy and the unit takes two 9V batteries. Great product!! I highly recommend.
No pressure June 30, 2008 Dan W (Minnesota) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I installed my timer and the valve would open, but with hardly any downstream pressure. I called Orbit and they suggested I return the timer, which I did and asked for a replacement. The replacement came, and same thing. Valve opens, and the water just trickles out the downstream side. I'm very disappointed. One faulty part I can understand, but two in a row?
