Bad Product Bad Customer Service November 9, 2007 Samuel J. Uretsky (Los Angeles, CA United States) 5 out of 10 found this review helpful
The Honeywell Thermostats promote themselves as having clear backlit displays. That's not always or exactly true. To get backlighting on some / most models I've encountered you must press one of the keys for the display to light up, essentially defeating the purpose. The one I purchased - not from Amazon - lost time like the other reviewer's did. It could never correctly read the ambient temperature and would not turn off the heat. I had it professionally installed to make sure it would be installed correctly. Customer Service is offshored. They listen. They have no suggestions. You escalate your inquiry and they try to "handle" you. The email address they give you for follow-up does not respond. Save yourself time, money and aggravation and buy something else. I simply reinstalled my old mercury bulb unit. Like clockwork, it turn's the heat on and off and keeps the temperature where I need it to be.
Not certain why others are having problems February 26, 2008 B. Davis (Los Alamos, NM) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I had some reservations about this product after reading the negative reviews. In fact I purchased the more expensive touch screen model since I especially concerned about accurate temperature measurement. These concerns turned out to be bogus. The first two units we ordered installed easily and performed fine. So we bought a 3rd. Unless there are quality control issues from Honeywell, you'll be doing well with this product. It isn't much cheaper than Home Depot, but you'll save 5-7 dollars depending on the tax in your state.

I am pleased with the product, easy to set up and use. I looked at feedback and it was recommended, so far very pleased.
Easy to use August 18, 2008 J.B. (St. Louis, Mo) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had my thermostat installed by my friends husband (he does it for a living). Once he set it up for me, I played with it works well very easy to use. If I can use this product anyone can trust me. It took me longer to walk around Home Depot and then try to pick one out then it did to program it. Home improvement stores aren't my thing.
Works like a Charm! October 5, 2008 D. Smith Very easy to install. Very easy to use. Works exactly like it's supposed to. 2 things: 1) make sure you have a set of small screw drivers to tighten the wires. Pick up one of the sets that can do tiny screws. I had to use a 1.2 MM screw driver if that helps. 2)Eyeball the one your taking out. Seems my old one had a bigger form so I had to paint under before I changed over. Past that you are golden.
