Racor Aluminum Bike Lift May 13, 2007 Dremel (Columbia, MO) I purchased two of these lifts with the very best price "Froogled" to be on Amazon. They work great with a minor exception, which is that the rope tends to slip off the pulley wheel, but I think I can overcome this with a simple modification. Now for the Ugly: The second one was easy to install, but the first one was a bugger. The instructions, like many installation instructions, left much to be desired. I found the parts descriptions and drawing to be vague and ambiguous. Not the kind of thing you want to install with children in ear shot!

Takes some work to set up, but saves space in garage and great for high ceilings.
Great Bike Rack November 21, 2007 Andrea Barros This is perfect - we have a VERY high ceiling and I was worried that it wouldn't work, but it is great. Very secure. Highly recommend.
Works good for all bikes April 3, 2008 Mom of 2 (Texas) This worked good for my large bike. Only got 4 stars because the instructions were not in English and it was missing 4 washers.
Good product, easy to install April 6, 2008 M. Everton (Baltimore, MD) I bought the Racor bike/ladder hoist to suspend a tandem kayak from our garage ceiling. It was an easy install and the adjustable rail on which the pulleys can slide is a very nice feature. I would have no complaints if this were used for the ladder or bike it was designed for, but when used to hoist a kayak I have to get on a ladder to bring it down. You cannot get the proper angle to release the cleat because the boat is too wide to allow it. Not a big hassle since this boat will not be coming down often, but I now see why (more expensive) hoists designed for kayaks have an offset pulley. For a bike, this would get five stars.
