 Not as tough as other Extreme Kongs October 29, 2007

My young lab (less than 1 year) started to destroy this Xtreme bone in under 10 minutes. The good news is that he liked it. The bad news is that this extreme kong is not as good as some of the other versions he has (such as the extreme kong with spikes).

I have never seen my 12 month old lab mix love a toy without "flavor" more than this one. He loved it a little too much, though, and managed to take a bite out of one end within 30 minutes. Big price to pay, but for those dogs with weaker jaws and teeth, it might be hours, days or weeks of fun.

My dog - a lively border collie - plays endlessly with the original Kong Extreme toy, with and without a treat inside. I purchased the Kong Extreme Goodie Bone Dog Toy as a new chew toy for him, but it did not hold up well. Within a month, he had chewed threw the ends of the bone and we had to throw it away. Meanwhile, the original Kong Extreme Dog Toy looks like the day we bought it.

This bone supplies my dog with lots of enjoyment and work. I have a very smart working breed dog that needs lots of challenges in his daily routine. This Kong bone does just that. I add peanut butter and a bone treat into each end of the Kong bone and place it in the freezer overnight. The next morning right before I leave for work Mr. Dog gets his bone and is so busy he barely realizes I am walking out the door.
I plan to buy another one for my second dog. They both want the bone and fight over it. They prefer it to the regular Kong.

My puppy LOVES this toy - especially when stuffed with some treats! Keeps him busy when we are watching a movie or wanting him to be calm for a while.
