At first I loved the new cat box and the convenience of the self cleaning. I was not happy but okay with the fact that my 2 cats could make a refill waste trap literally overflow after just 1 WEEK. The convenience of how easy it is to change the cartridge was great. About the time the trial period on it ran out so did it though. The sensor always thinks that there is a cat in there, so I have to manually push the button when I want it to scoop. Also when it does scoop it has developed an annoying squeek that we have not been able to fix with WD40. It is still better than a manual box and if you only have one cat, maybe yours will last longer than 6 monthes before falling apart.
**tip** When you replace the cartridges, be sure to run your hand over inner liner, sometimes they peel up around the seem by the trap and this make a HUGE mess. If you make sure it is making good contact prior to litter filling it is NOT a problem, they are pretty sticky.

These cartridges can be very expensive. I'm still hoping the prices will go down, but getting it from Amazon in bulk is the best deal. This 6 pack at 79.99 is a savings of over $2 per cartidge. Also anything that is eligible for super saver shipping is an awesome bonus. Thanks Amazon.

Excellant product however they claim each cartridge lasts for "up to 6 weeks". That's a play on words. I have to change it every 6 DAYS. This makes it very expensive, but it does a great job.

I have had this item for 4 months now, and both the cat and I are happy individuals. What a wonderful thing. It's well worth the money for the initial buy.

I have used multiple automatic litter boxes over the years, and when the new littermade came out with the metal rake, it was time to change brands. The new littermade model is terrible, even with all of the tricks I've developed to make it work over the years.
I researched and decided to try the scoop free litter box. I have 1 adult male cat who is a senior citizen with not-so-great kidneys that urinates a lot. I know that my cat uses his box a lot, but I cannot even get a litter refill to last more than 6 days, even adding extra crystals to help soak up the urine and stirring the crystals twice a day. Therefore, this box has proven to be quite expensive. However, that is the only drawback I have to this box and its refills. I love the box, and because I am so busy and my cat likes clean his litter box kept pristine, I am very happy with this product and will continue to use it. [...]
