I find it difficult to keep the collar in the correct position for it to work well, it wants to sit slightly to the side. When it is in the correct position it does moderate the barking although it doesn't completely eliminate it. I find my dog still barks but does so at considerably lower volume. Still annoying but way better than it was. However when the collar is not in the correct position it is as though it had never been there and the barking continues unabated.
I can't stress enough how important it is to remove the collar regularly and in a timely manner as stated in the directions. My dog fought so hard whenever I touched the collar that I stupidly left it on for several days. It left a major sore that took weeks to recover.
Would I buy the collar again, knowing what I now know? Absolutely. Any improvement is better than none.

I have a 6lb. Pomeranian and I tried this collar out as a last resort, since I was getting no where with positive reinforcement or spanks to his furry little butt. The collar kept shifting as he would shake his head to move the sensor out of place. So I had to really make sure that the collar was snug enough, but not so snug that I can't fit one finger between the contact point and his neck. Otherwise, if it's not placed directly in the middle of his neck to sense the vibrations from his vocal chords, it won't work. This is a good and bad feature as it ensures that not just any dog's bark is going to set it off, but it's bad because if the collar is not fit properly it won't work (or your dog is smart and can figure out how to move it out of place).
Since he has long hair and the fit needs to be very snug, it's not possible to use the snap feature to quickly take the collar on and off. Otherwise, his hair will get caught. This means that I have to remove the collar fully and adjust the strap each time I take it on/off every day. If you have a short haired dog, you should be fine. FYI, it's not meant to be worn for more than 12 hrs every day, and you want to turn the battery off when your dog's not wearing it as the replacement batter is not cheap. Cheapest I found is $10 via Amazon with free shipping.
I've already noticed a huge change the first day he wore it, but he seems to revert back to normal when it's off. I'm happy that it seems to work so far, but you really have to fidget around with the fit a great deal and it's not so easy to take it on/off with long haired dogs.

I was real hestiant in buying this but I have a Toy Fox Terrier that was biting at peoples heels and barking so loud that it hurt your ears. I purchase this collar and in about a week or so he has really calmed down, even when the collar is not on him. Now when the door bell rings he still gives a couple of light barks, I tell him "guite" a few times and he goes about his business and leaves my guest alone. He may still stiff their legs, but it has been a big change.
I worried about it hurting his neck, but he is fine. Don't hestiate to buy this great product!!

I have a teacup schnauzer, she's about 6 lbs and barks A LOT. I finally got this collar and I have to say it works wonders. When she barks more than she should she actually cries from the zapping so I know it is working.
In just 2 days her barking has decreased considerably.. now I hear her growling but she's afraid of actually throwing out a bark.... I think it will stop her from barking if I continue to use it.
I also tried it on my other schnauzer, she's 19 lbs.... she barks horribly when someone knocks at the door. When we put the collar on her she actually ran upstairs to hide after the first few barks. We tried knocking at the door again 10 minutes later and she wouldn't even go near it! No barking! She seemed to associate the zap with the door which also works for us hehehe. She's the type of dog that will run to the door barking loud whenever someone arrives and it's embarrassing so this helps for sure!
I will be making a video and posting a video review later on.

I got this for my yappy 7lb Maltese a few weeks ago. He barked when the doorbell rang, but was cut short from the shock. Now, as long as the collar is on, he won't bark. I have to say though that he seems "sad" when he has it on. This could be from the guilt I have when I see him look at me with that device on. He starts acting normal again about 15 min later though. It's gotten to the point where I don't even turn it on sometimes b/c he knows not to bark with it on. I have yet to do a trial run without the collar on, but it's nice to know that I can control his barking when visitors come over. I would keep it just to put it on him when I need him to not bark.
I agree with the other reviewers that it does slide to the side of his neck at times. The battery hasn't ran out yet, but I haven't used it a lot either. The rubber collar is pretty rigid as others have said. All in all, it does work for my dog!
