I bought this collar for my small dog, she's only 6 lbs, the collar is so unflexible because its all plastic the anti bark prongs end up on the back of her neck everytime she shakes her head. I cant make it any tighter or she would for sure stop barking, as well as breathing...so I'm out 70 bucks and I still have a non stop barking dog.

I was real hestiant in buying this but I have a Toy Fox Terrier that was biting at peoples heels and barking so loud that it hurt your ears. I purchase this collar and in about a week or so he has really calmed down, even when the collar is not on him. Now when the door bell rings he still gives a couple of light barks, I tell him "guite" a few times and he goes about his business and leaves my guest alone. He may still stiff their legs, but it has been a big change.
I worried about it hurting his neck, but he is fine. Don't hestiate to buy this great product!!

If you have a barker and close neighbors, this is a must. It stopped the barking by the end of the day for us. I was impressed. Please read and follow the directions. Do remove it when the dog is playing with you or other dogs.
Slides to the side of the neck - rendering it useless April 25, 2009

Do not waste your money. This very expensive collar works good for the first few shocks, then the problem becomes that the plastic starts to weaken and the collar will slide to the side of your dog's neck rendering it useless. Even if we tighten it to the point of practically choking the dog it still slides around to the side after 15 or so minutes. I do not recommend any of the PetSafe products actually. Many complaints have been logged all over the Web with their products in general. Instead of the shock route, we are going the Ultrasonic route with Ultimate Dog Silencer by Good Life.

Even though it says 11 lbs and larger, it's not for anything under 20 lbs. It is big and awkward. See my picture on my 14 lb. dachshund. My battery lasted a month, but I got a multipack and it's no big deal to replace them. It does stop the barking but my dog always knows when the collar is on. A smaller and lighter collar might trick him a little better.
