Stopped Chewing November 7, 2007 Andrea 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I've been using DAP for a couple of years now & it really works for behavioral problems. My dog is a chewer & chews furniture/carpet when we leave her alone. The DAP helps alleviate her anxiety & she doesn't chew anymore. I wondered for the longest if the product really worked or if it was a coincidence, but whenever I run out of the pheromone she starts chewing again.
D.A.P. did not work for us February 22, 2007 Gretchen (Oak Hill, VA United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
Sadly to say the product did nothing for our dog. It could be that our dog is peculiar, so I wouldn't count it out yet. For me, I'm not buying the refill.
Works while she is in the room. July 24, 2007 A. Brill (Florissant, MO) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
We have a 6 yr old Siberian Husky with severe separation anxiety and are trying to crate train her. We plugged the difuser in took her for a 45 minute walk. She stayed in the crate for about 1/2 an hour before getting fidgety. I told her to lay down and she actually did which is something she does not normally do. After about an hour of sitting alert in the crate but not fighting it (I did not leave the house). I let her out. As soon as she left the room she went nuts (the vet thinks it was a reaction to the DAP) she spent the next hour and a 1/2 jumping and pacing. Even a walk didn't calm her as it usually does - she fought the leash the entire time which is not normal. It seemed to calm her some while she was in the room. If it weren't for the reaction after we would use it more, but I guess it's not for us.
Unfortuantely it didn't work, for my lil'yorkiepoo June 16, 2008 E. Rosema (Detroit, MI) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this product in hopes that it would help my yorkie-poo puppy for her separation anxiety. Becuase she was not fully potty trained at the time I got this product, I would gate her in our dinning-room/kitchen which is all tile; while I would get ready in the morning or do house work. When I gated her in the kitchen she would cry and cry and cry. So I hoped that this would calm her down. But unhappily it did not work for her. I still have it plugged-in in that room. But now that she is a little bit older and she is about 90% potty trained, so there is no need to gate her while I do house work. But I do leave her in her kennel while at work, and the plug-in is by her kennel. When I leave she doesn't cry, so may-be it works, I don't know. Because she could just be used to her kennel, or it works for that purpose. Either way I don't think that I will be ordering a refill. It was worth a try, and the plug in was definitely cheaper than going to Pet-Smart or Petco. Hopefully this product will help your dog, because I know how heart breaking it is when they have anxiety issues. Good Luck!!
Seems to help March 25, 2007 Todd Johnson 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have only used this product a couple of times with our Dachshund Puppy and from the noises she makes when locked in the bathroom, it does seem that she is calmer than without it.
