Excellent litter....price too high at Amazon now July 15, 2008

After finally getting our dream kitty, Maine Coon, the breeder gave us a bag of this litter and strongly suggested using it. We LOVE it !! But can't find it locally. I ordered it once from Amazon...not paying attention to shipping, etc. What an idiot !!! When you spend twice as much on shipping as you do on the product it's time to stop buying it. What a shame. I'm hoping a local shop will order it for me. It's an excellent litter....no odor, no dust...if you can find it somewhere else, you'll love it.

This litter is terrific! It clumps well, and has very low dust, which is very important since we have a Cornish Rex who's nearly hairless so his belly gets VERY grimy with dusty litters.
To the person that said they couldn't tell a difference between this stuff and Tidy Cat - NOT TRUE. We used to use Tidy Cat litter, and it would create a dust storm when you poured it out. Every time our cats dug around in the litter, they'd end up sitting in a cloud of dust. This Precious Cat litter has very little dust!
My only beef is that Amazon jacked up the price on it *AND* they killed the free super-saver shipping. It's now too expensive and I won't be buying it from amazon any more. They had a great thing going until they got greedy.
The litter is great stuff, and we now buy it cheaper at a local pet store.

This is GREAT cat litter! I have tried every litter on the market and the Precious Cat Ultra Premium Clumping Cat Litter is by far the best! It has less dust than any other I've used, provides great odor control, and the clumps don't break apart when being removed. A definite hands-down winner!!
Along with other reviewers, I too am VERY disappointed that Amazon removed the "Free Shipping" option for this product!!
Being able to buy this litter tax-free and with the "Free Shipping" that had been offered helped me tremendously. Lugging bags of this weight up 2 flights of stairs on a regular basis is NOT an easy chore and it takes its toll on you, physically and very quickly. Amazon was an answer to my prayers - but not for very long. Without the "Free Shipping" originally offered, I can no longer afford to buy this product from Amazon.
I buy Just about everything online and have for many years. Approximately 90% of my internet orders have been placed with Amazon and I have been an EXTREME Amazon Loyalist from day one. But, Amazon.com has changed and the way certain things are now being done just don't feel right. Abruptly removing the "Free Shipping" option for a product AFTER that product becomes popular is not a good business practice. My opinion of Amazon is becoming tarnished and my shopping experiences aren't feeling quite as good as they once did. I'm not alone -- others are expressing their disappointment as well and that's really sad! It's a loss for Amazon and a loss for Amazon customers as well!

My husband says this is the very best cat litter he has used! We have gone to a different litter box with the pellets that my husband is sure he is going to like since the Precious Cat Ultra Premiun Clumping Cat litter is so good. We ordered the new box, pellets etc. before he had a chance to try the Precious Cat Litter and we may be switching back depending on how well our persnickety cat likes using pellets. You will be pleased and surprised how well this litter works.
Even with shipping costs it's not THAT bad a deal August 27, 2008

OK, like many of the reviewers, I was sure enjoying the days of free shipping! But my local stores do not even carry this very pleasant litter that does not have the usual chemically cat litter scent and clumps super hard. So I compared the cost of having three of the 18-pound bags shipped to me from Amazon.com versus Petsmart.com, and the Amazon price, at $45, was still $15 cheaper than the Petsmart total. I realize $30 for shipping is rather ridiculous, but it's worth it to me not to have to spend the time and effort required to schlep 60 pounds of litter home from the store (even if I could find it locally), and the litter lasts a long time even with my three cats. And sriously, people, getting free shipping on this super heavy product was great while it lasted, but obviously it was an oversight that someone finally noticed.
