1 out of 5 stars Buggy, clunky, with wretched support and no accountability.   March 31, 2008

While I like the fact that this software allows you to sync with your bank accounts, the syncing doesn't always work. When I first installed the software it worked. Then after an update one of my accounts just stopped syncing even though I was doing the same things and even though the other linked accounts came out. When I turned to tech support, I found out that there essentially is none. They offer only online tech support, which only provides the most basic information for setting up the first time, not for troubleshooting. When I tried to dig deeper, I got instructions to click on non-existent buttons and screens that weren't labeled. So I e-mailed them for support, and got an e-mail back with more instructions for non-existent buttons and such.

The other thing I wanted from the software was the reporting on investments, which worked, but didn't offer many features that I don't already get for free through my online banking with Wells Fargo.

I would not buy this software again. If I can't find a better product, I will export the info from my bank and create the information I need in Excel for less money and less hassle.

1 out of 5 stars What has happened to Intuit?   April 16, 2008

I am stunned by both the reviews and my own recent personal experience with Intuit.

I have used Quicken since its' inception.I am currently running Quicken2004 Deluxe. When it appeared on the market I started using Quickpay which morphed into QuickPayroll. And have been a subscriber all along.

I just recently decided to upgrade my machine to a Vista based platform. Vista has now been out for 1 1/2 years and I thought I'd be safe. I go to install QuickPayroll and discover it is not compatible with Vista. I try the Intuit callback service, no response. On their phone line I received conflicting information on comptibility issues with Quicken, Quickbooks,, QuickBooks Payroll and QuickPayroll.

Given the nature of the program, how can they NOT inform their user base of the compatatility issue. We're paying for the online update service this should have been a notice sent out to all users!!!!! THIS IS NO WAY TO OFFER A BUSINESS SUPPORT!!!!!!! AND MY EMPLOYEES WANT TO GET PAID, they're starting to get angry.

I may try to run the programs under Microsofts virtual machine or move them to my laptop which is still on XP. But, after reading all these reviews I don't think I want to DOWNgrade to this generation of Intuit products.

Simpler & easier to understand than years past, although some items are not well explained. I would recommend taking a few hours intially to learn the basics, and go from there.

Long time Quicken user, new to business. This new version does well. Some of the annoyances are now gone. Doing my quotes and invoices is a great help. Setting them up was a bit of a pain but once done they look good and it's very helpful. I like it.

I have been a quicken used for 10+ years. Also use quickpayroll(was quickpay and was morphed into quickpayroll years ago). I am a busy business owner and deal with lots of various colleagues, suppliers, etc for 27 years. The intuit organization is perhaps THE very poorest organization I deal with, not responsive, crappy products, lots of bugs, I am SICK AND TIRED of their products. Wish I NEVER would have "upgraded" to Quicken 2008. I am not looking for a better software to replace both. I think Intuit will go the way of AMC, Eastern Airlines, etc...

We'll be adding even more exciting features to assist you in the coming year.
