The good:
--Makes taxes simpler to work out before the year end.
--Downloads are easy and setup is a snap.
--Getting around in the application is simple enough.
--Answers most of the questions that come up or points to where the answer
may be.
The bad:
--It doesn't pay my taxes for me.

I used this software to prepare my Federal and NJ State returns. It was simple all along. It checked for errors and found none. I printed a copy before I decided to E-file my Federal. During the E-filing process, the software found an "error". I thought we were past the error check at that point. It asked me to enter something in the W-2 BOX 10 for my husband. He had nothing in that box. I entered zero. It then took me to the E-file screen, where I sent the return for processing (no turning back). After the E-file went through, my refund was reduced by a large amount! After looking through the return, I found that the software automatically plugged a number into box 10 of my husband's W-2(the same # as my box 10)It caused an increase in income of course and decrease in my deduction. After spending an hour on hold, only to get an inexperienced tech, I was told I now had to file an amended return by mail. Great! More trouble than it was worth!!!! I should have filed manually , it would have taken less time!

This has been the best and easiest to use in my 10+ years dealing with Turbo Tax, A little expensive this year but what ain't. Still 5 stars and worth every penny.

I have used TurboTax for years without IRS problems and the on-line updates and state download process is very easy. So much for the product.
I have found it economical to buy from Amazon because (when free shipping is offered) the bottom line price is about the same as buying from Staples, etc., sending in rebate forms, receipts, etc., then waiting for and depositing the rebate check etc. Fair price, less hassle.

Have used TurboTax for personal taxes for several years - it remains a good choice. The Amazon purchase represented a fair price and good service.
