Recommend 'Starry Night Pro' over all other versions October 15, 2002 Randolph Scott Keller (Seattle, WA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This program is not just for beginner to serious amateur astronomer. On the contrary, anyone with a computer has desktop access to and detailed information on all that goes on in the sky. The Pro edition is a bargain and has all the features you will want. Don't buy the lesser editions. A new edition coming later this year is relatively pricey. If you want a realistic sky planetarium or information about anything up there at anytime past present or future, get this program. It is absolutely beautiful to view especially if you take the time to set it up with the sky aesthetic that suites you.
Novice? YOU'LL LOVE IT!!! February 3, 2002 Steve Silverman (Costa Rica) Finally, one that WORKS! Set your home location & 24 hrs a day you can enter! Fast frwd clock & get a night view JUST AS YOU'LL SEE IT! Or, if you're into it you can switch to scope (inverted) view of ALL, just planets, satalites, galaxies, whatever, with or w/o local ground light, and ZOOM to view whatever from any object! I've just started, but it's the finest program I've got. Tossed Red Shift (et al), no contest! Sometimes I leave it on just to notice the sky darkening! Zoom, identify, shows moon in phases (and everything), it's all you could ask for!
Very good!! August 21, 2002 0 out of 4 found this review helpful
Starry Night Pro is an eccelent program for anyone who wants to know what stars are out, but you can also play with it, like making a new comet or even planet, and making M13 look like a black hole!
