It doesnt install!!! January 27, 2007 David S. Schultz (Wisconsin, USA) 6 out of 40 found this review helpful
This is an example of a large company pertpetrating fraud on the people who buy its products. I bought my son an iPod for Christmas. Unfortunately he could not use it to download from itunes on his 4 yr old Mac Powerbook computer. He needed to buy the newer (tiger) operating system. So another [...] to buy this operating system. He has been unable to install it on his Powerbook. Both of us have spent over 4 hours on the phone with Mac tech support(hah!) and have found no solution. Finally they told us to bring it in to an Applestore (three hour drive away) which we did, only to be told that it would cost [...] for them to even look at it. I hope no one else has to suffer like we have just because you bought an iPod.
Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.6 August 21, 2006 Gene L. Colborn (martinez, ga) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
The Tiger CD was received promptly and installed easily, without loss of previous data. It proved to be incompatible with the Safari browser, and Explorer somewhat less so. The new features allowed grater compatability with newer software, especially for imaging.

Love this operating system upgrade for my iMac. The widgets are very convenient, for example when composing an E-mail in spanish you can translate or spell check. Also bluetooth is much improved, but linking with a bluetooth headset is still for some reason( Apple blames the adapter and the third party blames Apple) not possible. Creating personal ring tones for free on my iMac was a lot of fun with my bluetooth phone. All in all , this upgrade yields a lot of polish on the best operating system available for the home user, in my opinion.
Best OS out there January 11, 2007 Ian Seekell 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
OS X is solid, stabe, and easy to use. But don't think it's not powerful--with the Unix core you can get as far under the hood as you care to learn about.
Mac OS X Tiger - Pretty Good April 17, 2007 Kuoting Chiu (West Hartford, CT USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
First off, I gave it 4 stars because for windows users- 5 star product, but for mac users- 3 stars windows users- if you're still using windows, you are missing out on no more troubleshooting problems, great user interface and next gen features like spotlight, dashboard and of course the great iLife. Tiger is about two times better than vista ultimate, and combining that with the expensive price, tiger is 8 times better. Even though vista copies many of the features in tiger, they are far from being as productive and easy-to-use as tiger's (not to mention tons of bugs and problems). SO GET A MAC AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! [...]
