I have triad the following products, each with problems:
Trend Micro - Used to like it, but latest version has software conflicts with some of our necessary software, including drivers for HP Plotter.
Norton - Bogs the system down fiercely.
Kaspersky - Difficult interface, bogs system down
I added to six computers in the office, and so far so good.
My second choice would be Trend Micro.

I have used this program for just over a month now. At first all was well then the program started to turn off firewall protection, then would not do an auto download, then started getting runt time errors when it would conduct system scan, then PC would lock up. Notified BitDefender customer support by email and received absolutely zero response. Finally I removed and reloaded the program, all was well again, then............
This is an awful program full of bugs and errors anyone using it will be at risk of having your firewall turn off and who knows what else that you will be fully exposed to. Using the FIX PROBLEM button does little if anything. This was a total waste of my money and now I'm looking elsewhere for another "highly rated" product which I hope will work better than this does.

This is the worst product ever. It was horrid trying to get on the internet. Bitdefender made my computer slow and it drove me crazy. It says it is made for windows Xp forget it. This is the worst product ever. I don't leave very many reviews but believe me when I say don't bother with this product.

I have been using BitDefender for the pass few months, and I enjoy the security it does give me. I had McAfee, and I'm glad I got rid of it. It was a hog everytime it did an update, which was anytime it wanted to and gave no warning it was updating. The only way you knew McAfee was updating was when everything slowed way down. I had reviewed its performance and it took 90 percent of my cpu time just updating. I grew to detest it. I found BitDefender a welcome relief. It does its job very well. When I first installed it into two of my computers, it immediately found seven viruses on one computer, and four on the other one. And McAfee was supposed to have guarded against these intrusions, HA! BitDefender is everything it is advertised to be. It is very user-friendly, and especially important, it updates and scans when you want it to. It has clear help instructions, and if needed, a link for real time help with their tech support. Scanning and tuneups are done quickly. It also generates reports for you to read and for them to use, no names included, to improve the program and keep a real-time watch if there is a major virus outbreak for them to respond to it quickly. It will give you peace of mind. If you have children or teens, the parental controls are very good to keep them from going to where you don't want them to go, by chance or on purpose.

I ran the 2007 version flawlessly on our three home computers. When the 2007 subscription was up, I upgraded to 2008 version and the problems began. First of all it had some install problems on our Vista machine. The install would just hang for hours, forcing a reboot. On our XP machines, it installed fine but after about a month the firewall quit working on one computer and for some reason totally blocked the internet connection for that computer.
The customer service was dismal at best when trying to resolve these issues. Basically, I was told to download the removal tool and try it again. Heck the removal tool didn't even completely remove all of the registry entries. The overseas tech support was difficult to understand at time which further complicated the matter. The bottom line is I had to do a complete re-install of Windows to get things working again.
I do not know what they did between the 2007 and 2008 version but who ever did it should be fired. I strongly suggest you try ANY of the other security programs but this one.
