very poorly organized July 1, 2008 A Reader 7 out of 21 found this review helpful
I spent 2 or 3 nights on this product, and watched a few of the tutorial videos and will probably throw this away. I don't have the attention span or the time to dive in and learn how to use it - and I'm a computer professional. They should have had a checklist - step 1, step 2, etc. but instead there are these videos to watch and programs in 2 different installs. I thought the "wizard" would be a good place to start (how about telling us where to start?) designing a basic floorplan but got stuck in that and didn't ever figure out how to move on. Several of the options I tried (for instance, to convert my 2-d to a 3-d plan) did nothing so must have required something but didn't give me a clue what it needed. If I kept playing with this product I might accidentally learn how to get something useful out of it but it is much more time than I care to spend.

Have just tried one structure - an outdoor pavilion. This product is definitely geared toward traditional applications. Try to do anything "outside the box" and you are in for a long session trying to find creative ways around standard commands and insertable, pre-developed architectural elements. If you have any CAD experience at all, it is frustrating to not be able to just create your plan from scratch. Cannot seem to save file to file type that is compatible with my plotter. Consider your options carefully before purchase.

Great features once you learn how to use the program. Very helpful with the remodeling of my house and backyard.

This item was hard at first to figure out but after watching the video it made it a lot easier. Of course im still playing with it trying to build my dream house! But nontheless its a very good item.
Awesome, and worth the Money!! July 30, 2008 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
I am a girl who is very interested in architectural things, when I once played "The Sims"TM I realized I just had to get a cad software for designing. It is very good to design your dream home, or simply design a room or a kitchen. It has pretty good graphics, even though I think that the could have done their foliage better. I was so excited when my dad bought it for me for a graduaton present. When most kids were getting software, I was getting software. Eventhough I was going to get a cellphone anyway, which I stll haven't gotten. This program is worth the money please buy! note that it does not have elevators. If a thing that pops up and says update available for the product,I downloaded it, and nothing happened, all it does is gives a few more things. If you go on the website, you might find a couple of update things, for 7.0 and 8.0 I tried downloading a 7.0 it didn't work, but the updates are really cool. I have Windows XP and the software works great! If your looking into this I'd buy it, and I submitted 4 of the customer images.
