1 out of 5 stars Like errors?   October 10, 2007

Well I decided to buy this product after having my Money 2004 stop accepting online transactions. I love the interface and it seemed really useful but there was one major problem. The adjusted balance was all wrong. The bank balance, while correct would after update change the adjusted balance. This is while I made no category changes or did anything to change this. I even opened a new Money file, reset everything and the same errors happened. I called support and the person, while friendly, was clueless. While on the line trying to solve one error, I saw my balance in one account go from $1000 to negative 50,000 and then positive 30,000. The person in tech support thought the solution was just to adjust my opening balance instead of actually fixing the problem that kept recurring. The software is going back and I will be ordering Quicken. (by the way, my sister on another computer and using Vista had the same types of errors as well).

Not too shabby a product. Things transitioned well from the upgrade. I would recommend the purchase. I'm running it under Vista without issue.

1 out of 5 stars No improvement, horribly slow   January 17, 2008

I upgraded only to continue my online services. No improvement over previous version. Online updates are ridiculously slow, and you can't do anything else with it while it updates. So now it takes me 5 times as long to do anything with Money.

1 out of 5 stars A major disappointment   January 21, 2008

I had been using the 2004 version of Money without issue but Microsoft stopped allowing downloads from credit card companies and banks. After reading the so-so reviews for both Quicken and Money I still went with Money 2008. What are piece of garbage! It is a huge system drain. I have a dual core processor and Money maxes it out while doing simple functions like downloading bank updates. It took me probably twice as long to preform the same tasks in 2008 over 2004. I would go back to 2004 if I could. I only hope Microsoft patches the product but I doubt the will. They have us over a barrel and they are forcing upgrades. nice.

1 out of 5 stars HORRIBLE!   March 1, 2008

I purchased this product months ago and when I attempted to install it on my computer at home it informed me that my product key was invalid. After emailing the customer "support" people numerous times, I was told that the ONLY way to resolve this issue was to call a long distance number and talk to a live customer service rep. Reluctantly, I took off work early one afternoon (as the customer "support" office is only open on weekdays and closes before I usually get home from work) and called the long distance number. After @15 minutes on hold (long distance) I was able to speak with a person who (using the information that I had emailed repeatedly) was able to generate an "override code." He told me that he would email it to me in a few minutes. I hung up with him and got the email a few minutes later. You guessed it - didn't work! I paid good money for this software and cannot even get it registered and after 20+ emails and now a long distance phone call, I am no closer to using this software than you are - and you haven't even bought it yet! Take my advice DON'T buy it - save yourself the grief. You have been warned!
