3 out of 5 stars Updated screens, same functions BUT much slower   October 5, 2007

I got the update too...been using MS Money for many years. Thought it would fix the bugs of downloading entries from my bank accounts and credit cards (sometimes a different name will be in the name field, and I'll have to go back and change it)...it didn't. The screenshots, ie color and look, are a bit different, functions are the same. I thought I read you can scan documents to go with each entry (such as a credit card receipt...haven't found that yet). Program runs MUCH slower and frequently gets stuck. Should've stuck with the older version...

1 out of 5 stars Yikes! Not a good option for frustrated Quicken users   January 18, 2008

I have been a long time Quicken user (95), managing all my investments and using Online banking. Quicken has had many problems with their investment update servers in the past year + so I decided to switch to Money Plus Deluxe. Big mistake! It didn't convert files well, lots of manual cleanup needed. The user interface is really poor. Finding the various accounts is very hard, especially investment accounts. Registers display very little info on screens which you can't adjust even column widths! The end came when I discover my very large East Coast bank, while listed as an interfacing bank, doesn't connect well and the use of the online payment process is very shakey (through 3rd party). No help from Microsoft support and no way for a refund! Reluctantly going back to Quicken....

1 out of 5 stars Micorsoft should just offer online service as an item rather than Money 2008   October 22, 2007

Like all other previous reviewers, i find nothing useful that has changed since my money 2005. I think Microsoft should just have an option to buy online services for money 2005 instead of forcing me to upgrade.

1 out of 5 stars Not very good   January 7, 2008

Money Plus wouldn't sync with most of the banking services that I use. Even with huge banks like ING Direct, it wouldn't work well at all. With my own local bank, it simply crashed every type I tried to sync it.

Keep looking, this isn't the software for you.

1 out of 5 stars Buggy to the point of being unusable   January 11, 2008

I've been doing my finances on the PC for over a decade. While I've never been completely satisfied with either Quicken or MS Money, I've never demanded a refund...until now. I was content enough with my old version of Money, but as the license to sync up with your banks electronically expires every couple of years (this is true with both products), I found it necessary to upgrade to the latest version recently. Keeping personal finances in order is burden enough without having to fight the software every step, and that's exactly what is required with this far-from-ready-for-primetime mess of an application. Individual transactions fail to download, causing you to have to sync up repeatedly before everything comes down. In addition, for no good reason at all, sometimes the downloads cause brand new accounts to be created, and I've never figured out how it decides to divvy my monies between those...
Tech support? Tried that route, clearly stating my problem trying to sync Money with my financial institutions. The response was "Let me see if I understand your problem correctly--you are unable to upgrade to the latest version of Money?"
My response to that was to ask politely for a refund. Four phone numbers and an equal number of support folks later, I did get exactly that. Odd though that not one of these persons asked me why I was dissatisfied.
Sigh...back to Quicken.
