File corruption, horrible internet connect, QIF forget it -- DO NOT BUY!!! November 11, 2007 DealBuyz (Rochester, NY) 5 out of 9 found this review helpful
After 6 hours of working with MS Money Plus I am reluctantly switching to Quicken. I was trying to convert from Quicken for Mac, but QIF file exports were not importing successfully. After about 4 hours of trying I resolved to cut my losses and only use MS Money Plus from here forward... Setting up my first bank was easy, but I could only get my checking, savings, and old money market account. I could not get my credit card and line of credit (from the same bank) to connect. Then I started having issues with downloaded transactions not being visible (I was using the advanced register because I prefer to accept each transaction individually). The bank balance in the accounts list would show that transactions were downloaded, but when I would open the account there would be no transactions! I'd get a message stating that the bank balance doesn't match the register. Okay, so I go File-Repair--- fixed, right? Only for a little while. I get the same problem -- my transactions disappeared in the register, so I shut down and re-open and there they are. Same thing happened later, so I double click to create a new transaction anyway and THEN all my downloaded transactions appear. Okay, so I move on to another account to set it up for online downloads, but the bank list cannot be found. Try again later...? Try again later and I get the list, but the bank is still not connecting and now I have an extra account showing up in the account list. Try again and again and again... 3 hours later I was still only able to connect to 2 of my 5 banks! I can't work with a product that has so many bugs.
Gets stuck all the time February 1, 2008 Jay's Opinion 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was using Microsoft Money, and my subscription ran out so I was basically forced to upgrade. I hate this program. It has never worked properly. It gets stuck updating the account ALWAYS. I have run it for days and it stays stuck. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it for it to work only once and then get stuck. I am watching it now stay stuck. It does not allow me to really enter in anything while it is updating. I hate this program with a vengeance.
Buggy software February 20, 2008 Reviewer (Chicago, IL United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was using Money 2005. The online update stopped working after two years and I was forced to upgrade to Money Plus (for a price of course). It does NOT offer any more useful features than Money 2005 and it's buggy. The online update never finishes. And it always say "Update in Progress". I work for a software company myself. I would have fired everybody in the Microsoft Money team for making the software worse.
TERRIBLE February 24, 2008 Ranty 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Microsoft's worst product since Windows 95. This offers very little in the way of imporovement over Money 2007, but it takes FOREVER to download updated information and process it -- at lest 4-5 times longer than does mone 2007. Unfortunately, if you are a Money User, it looks like Microsoft is holding you hostage. Our Money 2007 no longer updates properly -- yet Money 2008 did (after 10 minutes). This is highway robbery. If they're going to monkey wrench their own past products to get you to pay $30 to upgrade, the new stuff should perform at least as well as the old. That's not the case. If your past verion of Money is still working, don't bother sending Redmond a dime for this POJ.
Works great with VISTA October 8, 2007 R. Morgner 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Works with my new computer running VISTA Home Premium. I haven't delved into all its features yet, but I'm reallly pleased with its ease of setup and similarities to my old Money 2000 that was on my old computer. I was up and running in no time. I don't get real sophisticated and am happy with everything that this product offers. It's well worth it as far as I'm concerned.
