worst product January 6, 2008 Donna J. Lucas 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
I purchased this product for my three computers. It so greatly inhibits the internet to make it unavailable unless it is turned off. I hate this product. Going back to Nortons.
Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3-user January 13, 2008 Francisco Urosa (Katy, Tx USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've used Norton, Panda and other Internet security systems, and Kaspersky does indeed outperform all others by far, as it states in its package. Before uninstalling Panda I run a full scan with no findings. Upon installing Kasperky, it found 7 instances among virus and spam ocult in my machine which neither Panda nor Symantec had found. Plus is so easy to use and low is system resources usage too. Highly recommended !
Works great for the basic user--me January 15, 2008 Scooter (Seattle, WA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I bought this software after reading reviews in "PC" and Amazon. I also have heard from friends that Norton and McAfee take over your computer, slowing down the machine, and so on. I'm just a basic user; I want to install something w/o having to modify it and just let it run and do its job. I don't want to have to even attempt to fuss w/ the software, mostly because I don't know what I would need to do anyway. So, Kaspersky has been great for me. It was easy to install, runs in the background, and I've never noticed even a touch of slowing of my machine. I like the 3-user license, too; I installed it on my own laptop and then also on my parents' PC. I recommend it!
Too complex even for an average user January 23, 2008 MowNYC (Ardsley, NY United States) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Impressions after one month after install. Used to be very happy with KAV 6, so bought KIS 7.0.1.125. More complex than previous versions, and not too friendly/intuitive - requires a lot of manual tune-up and beyond average computer knowledge though I'm a fairly educated used. Bugs/drawbacks: (1)Immediately crashed my home network (no file sharing, no acceess to other computers). Knowledge base is silent on the matter, so after 25 minutes wait on the tech support phone line (no 800 number) was told to install the newer version 7.0.1.321. It solved the home network problem. (2) Sometimes, when you need to open a pop up window or another tab/IE window KIS blocks it. Addiding the site to the trusted list doesn't help. This happens even on Kaspersky page when I wanted to start a live chat with their tech support.(3) When I use bittorrent client under the KIS propriotary firewall I'm not getting proper connections, hence slower uploads/downloads. This was not a problem with KAV 6. Addiding the application to the trusted list is a nightmare as you have to create rules for it and this is beyond average Joe's understanding. So for the bittorrent client I have to switch to the original windows firewall. Bummer. Help database is not helpful on my issues. Will have to call tech support again. These are three problem areas I uncovered so far. The rest works pretty well. IMHO, creating a more complex product is not always better.
major problem installing January 25, 2008 R. Baron (South-Eastern Massachusetts) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Major problem installing, messed up Internet connectivity with UN-ending alarms for connections to websites and finally blocking most of them. Turned into such nuisance that I had to uninstall and switch to different Internet security software.
