A week after installation it blocks access to the internet March 9, 2008 None (Chicago, IL USA) 6 out of 10 found this review helpful
After reading a few reviews I purchased this product but for now I consider it a waste of money. It worked the first week but after that it stopped because Internet Explorer had some type of update and the product blocked that update and IE all together. The only way for me to get on the internet is to disable the product...well whats the point of having it in the first place? I did read the instructions on the Kaspersky website that detailed how to "allow" Internet Explorer but when I went through the steps on my machine it indicated that it was allowing IE and it was not blocked. When the pop up comes up showing that it is blocking the program there is no way to allow the action to continue like I have had with other products in the past. Now for the irony; I have two of the exact same computers, both installed with the same program, the other computer is not having these issues with Kaspersky. My opinion, buy something else, tech support is non-existant.
Improved Internet security suite March 17, 2008 D. Merrithew (Northern CA USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I switched to Kaspersky security after using ZoneAlarm for 3 years. Had several computer viruses and malware get through and attack my pc during that time including one from a search engine link. ZoneLabs didn't have very good free tech support (you could pay for better tech help, 900 # etc.). When the ZA license expired I saw a review from ZDnet that rated Kaspersky Anti-Virus excellent, 8.0 out of 10. I installed the internet suite and liked the easy access and controls of the program. Was using a search engine when I unknowingly clicked on a dangerous link and the security balloon popped right up warning about malware attempting to load itself. It blocked the install without any problem. I wish ZoneAlarm could've done that.
Not for an Average User April 15, 2008 P.A. Flinsch (NJ USA) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I used this product for a week and have already returned it for a refund. It took 8 hours to run a scan on my pc which is a ridicuous amount of time. It completely slowed down everything on my pc. opening up a web page took several minutes. There are constant warning pop up messages that are vague. A novice pc user would not know how to deal with the pop up issue. I would not recommend this product for an average user or an older computer.
KIS 6 good, KIS 7 BAD! May 9, 2008 brewster lewster (USA) 6 out of 8 found this review helpful
Well, I purchased and used KIS 6 for a year and time was ready to renew. I thought, "great, I like KIS 6, let's do it!" Well, I followed all of Kaspersky's instructions on removing KIS 6 and installing 7 (eventually did it three x). Seemed to go well at first but boy did my XP SP2 1.6 GHZ , 1G RAM, 120 GB slowwwwww down my IE and Firefox engines. I contacted K customer support via email ticket with no response (actually got one ONE WEEK later!), so I tried direct email and started an email exchange which meant waiting an hour+ for a return email. I sent a SysInfo packet and he told me to remove a tiny register remnant of Norton which came with my computer with the Norton tool AND that my Spywareblaster and Windows Defender were incompatable with KIS 7 despite no problems for a year with KIS 6. Yeah, right! I did what he said anyway and removed all. No difference. I finally called and waited 20 min but got a nice tech who was helpful and compassionate and he told me to uncheck a filter setting labeled "Kaspersky" in my windows security which helped the IE and firefox speeds but still I had a MUCH slower computer than before and also noticed that I could not watch and of my NETFLIX Instant Watch films (they said my connection was too slow, despite my speed check of my DSL connection saying its fast). So in the end I had to kiss KIS goodbye and adopted AVAST! (top rated on avcomparables and now with antispyware, too!) and reloaded my Defender, Spybot, and Spywareblaster and I am clean and happy!

Kaspersky Internet Security 7.0 3-user Simple and smooth installation process. Short auto-learn phase. Minimum interruption to computer operations while providing excellent security. Better experience than I had with Mcaffee, Norton. Quite identical to ZoneAlarm.
