 Not Perfect but Close Enough May 21, 2007

After installing the Vista operating system, I installed Office Professional, which containes the Windows 2007 versions of: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Publisher, Accounting Express, and Access.
The whole installation process took several hours but I had no trouble installing and launching the all the programs.
I am very pleased with the programs and how they interact. I expect there are some bugs in the package; however, I also expect that Microsoft will find them and automatically send me the appropriate patches. I would rather take this approach and make use of this great software rather than wait for a bug-free perfect piece of software to be developed.
I believe the combination of Vista and Office 2007 is a fantastic package and well worth upgrading to.

I have been a loyal Microsoft user for many years and a real fan of Excel.
The radical changes in the menus require relearning this software, which appears to be an unnecessary change.
It's difficult to find some of the same previous functionality
I want my dog back and the prior menu setup.

One of the best changes ever. Great formating tools that finally make producing good-looking documents easy. You'll have to get used to the new interface, but when you do it's absolutely worth it.
Regarding the Ribbon taking space - it's just about time to switch to higher resolution screens, so it's not a problem at all.
I really liked the new conditional formatting feature in Excel.

When trying to deal with a 20MB Excel file, the magic thing office 07 has done is reduce the file size to 3MB after conversion. It performs very well to run complicated calculations,i.e. array formula. Only thing is that you would expect bit slower than other office version when you open/save copy/paste etc but much faster on calculaitons.
If you don't mind to spend some time to be familiar with new tool bar setting, office 07 is a good choice especially you have huge Excel file.

This product is great. I run a business out of my home and I love the new outlook with business contact manager. I can keep track of all of my clients easily and track the time spent on projects by using the timer in the phone call log. Great purchase!
