Better than the Restaraunts! June 23, 2008 BellyDanceGoddess.com (Miami, Florida USA) When you love Indian food, but don't have the time to cook it, Kitchens of India is a really great alternative. I have yet to be disappointed in one of their dishes and this one is no exception. Plus, many of them include Classical Indian Music CDs that are extremely good.
Way better than I expected! July 1, 2008 Allen H (New Haven, CT United States) Any negative reviews you find of this product would have to be from Indian restaurants worried about losing business! I don't review many things, but was so impressed with the flavor and ease of use of this product... will now be a major staple of our kitchen!
Tasty and Easy August 3, 2008 M. Giacomazzo (Hallowell, Maine USA) Simply put these packets are easy to use and yield a good result when you want Indian in a pinch. I modified the recipe on the packet by adding chopped onion and some leftover roasted potatoes making the result more of a complete meal. The salt content is a little high but overall the quality is excellent for a concentrate.
Disappointing.. August 4, 2008 IRG (NYC) Taste was disappointing and unappealing. Perhaps having enjoyed so many authentic and freshly prepared meals (we cook a lot of Indian dishes and use fresh spices) both at home and in restaurants, I had higher expectations than other reviewers. Would definitely NOT recommend. The paste was hard to mix (so that the chicken was coated evenly) and the "Sauce" consistency was runny. (And I used even less water than suggested.) You'd be better off with one of the many sauces in a jar (if you can stand all the salt), if you can't make fresh. It's too easy to just create your own sauce from scratch. Better flavor, which is the bottom line.
Better than restaurants August 25, 2008 R. Cooper (Virginia) I agree with Allen H, i.e. any really negative review is suspect, maybe from an Indian restaurant owner. I am a widower so this meal lasts me for 3 meals (with a side dish and bread). Sometimes it lasts only 2 meals when I can't resist seconds. So far it is my favorite KOI product.
