Bike cages and caps November 25, 2007 trail.biker (Cambridge, OH USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Ok, here's the deal with bike bottle cages. This bottle is just barely too big to work well in a metal cage, but I use it with my plastic Profile Kage cages and it fits beautifully. Get the circular cages that are split down the front with the o-ring. They can be had for about $2.50 at Nashbar or Performance. The sport cap is a bit tough to suck water out of. It has a valve to let air into the bottle and the valve is just a little too stiff. It works OK and doesn't leak, but could be better. Definitely get the bundle deal with the screw-on cap. The screw cap fits well and works great. Overall, I would give this bottle 2.5 stars with the sport cap and 5 stars with the screw cap (not the flat cap, the one with the horizontal hole in it in the "Better Together" offer). Once you take the label off, these are the coolest looking bottles out there. They look very manly despite the purple cap and won't get mixed up with anyone else's bottle.
Buy new sports cap! February 21, 2008 F. Dangelo (Oakland, CA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The cap broke after only 4 days of use. I bought a Klean Canteen sport cap and it is of much better quality. I have used it for two months now without any problems. The bottle is great with the sport grip. Too bad they make poor quality caps. Oh well.....!
Purchase two, Glad this is an option over Plastic March 17, 2008 Mark D. Kline (LB, CA) 5 out of 8 found this review helpful
I purchased two of these after reading about plastics leaching into the water. I carry water to the gym and also keep a container at work. Since I'm in my mid 40's now, I'm seeing some issues my doctor can't explain. Since I fairly healthy and go to the gym 3-6 times a week, eat a lot of raw foods, still cook some., stay away from processed as much as possible, now I'm down to seeing what other items might be effecting my life. Got rid of all of my plastic containers, at least the ones I microwaved in. Switched over to glass containers to take to work if possible. Salad still use old style rubber made, with the 5 recycle symbol not the new stuff from china. Glass containers from the Container store, with the rubber seal. Old style clamp. Can put small qty's in for my lunches. A work in progress, Hope things start to adjust back to normal. The top nozzle could be a bit better, room for improvement, but at least their is a large container option out their which is the best point. So thats why I gave it 4 stars. Thanks, M
New Wave Enviro Stainless Steel Water Bottle June 27, 2008 Barbara Ryan 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
There are two things I do not like about the Stainless Steel water bottle as follows: 1. There is no insulation. When you put ice water in it and hold the bottle, your hands feel freezing cold. (I had to buy a 1 liter bottle holder - made of insulated nylon fabric in order to use it.) The expense of the bottle and insulated bottle wrap was not worth it. 2. The plastic pull up stopper that you drink from does not allow enough of the water to come out into your mouth at one time.
Made in China July 4, 2008 Amazon shopper (CA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wish the fact that this bottle is Made in China was disclosed in the product details. Overall it's a decent stainless steel bottle. I haven't had a leak. It doesn't flow quickly using the sport cap, but I don't think any of the stainless steel bottles do. They do get cold to touch when you put ice in them, same for hot if you were to put something hot in them.
