A bit cumbersome but cost effective December 13, 2007 Heather (Columbia, MOUnited States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I bought this from a local health food store and was surprised to find an inexpensive option to the Sigg and Kleen Kanteen. This, as the KK, is made in China. Water quality out of it is good but I haven't taken it on any long hot outings yet. The drinking spout does chirp and I've found it harder to suck the water out so I just blow air into it displacing the water so it comes out easily - I can't remember right now if it makes a chirp when I do that, but I had a call center job and used it all the time and had no coworker complaints. It does fit into the drink holder in my car nicely, which considering it's size I was a little surprised. I wouldn't want to take it on a bike - to long/tall. Haven't had any leaking problems. My biggest complaint is the cover for the sipping part doesn't stay on anymore so it just flops around uselessly but is still attached to the bottle - I will be cutting it off soon!

The shape on the New Wave Enviro Stainless Steel Water Bottle is perfect to hold, it has a nice large opening so ice cubs fit easily. The thing I don't like about it is that it is not insulated. When carrying it it gets quite cold when using ice. JCT
New Wave Enviro Stainless Steel Water Bottle May 19, 2008 M. Cites (NJ, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I found the bottle to be good quality, easy to clean, and fits into cupholders. I use the optional cap instead of the provided suck-nipple. The cap is a bit of a pain because of overflows after filling. The solution has been to leave a fair amount of air at the top when filling. This is not a problem with the nipple since it is hollow.
Don't waste your money! June 28, 2008 A. Bickley (Eatontown, NJ United States) 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a terrible water bottle! It is not insulated. Fill it with ice and water and you can't pick it up because it is too cold. Don't drink it fast enough on a hot day and it gets warm. The sport top is too difficult to sip from. What a waste of money!!!
Great bottle; horrible cap. Update: Water tastes horrible! August 3, 2008 L. R. Fenstermaker 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I originally bought a 40 oz. Klean Kanteen bottle, but it's just too smooth and slippery, so I purchased this bottle for the gym. The ridged concave sides are perfect. However, I agree with the other reviewers who gave a thumbs down to the cap. It's difficult to pull off the top and the little rubber intake valve doesn't work - I just get a vacuum when I suck on it. Fortunately, the Klean Kanteen sports cap fits it just fine, so I'm all set. As to the size, it fits fine in all the equipment at the gym and it's smaller in diameter than the old 1.5 L plastic bottles I used to cart around. But I don't ride a real bicycle, so I can't speak to that. As to the volume, I measured it and it does hold a full liter. Overall, I'm very happy, but a star gets knocked off for the sports cap. Any prospective buyers should purchase a Klean Kanteen sports cap to go with it. Update: After drinking out of this at the gym, I had a horrible aftertaste all night long. Not just metallic, but almost chemical. I washed it (again) with diluted white vinegar and let it sit overnight in the solution, which only slightly decreased the bad taste. After another night with the vinegar solution, the water out of it still tasted horrible. Something is wrong with this bottle. Water out of my Klean Kanteen tastes fine, but this is disgusting. Wish I'd waited to rate this - now it gets zero stars.
