Best travel pillow ever December 12, 2006 A. Chastain (San Francisco, CA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I can't sleep on planes. Facing a 12 hour flight to Europe, I bought this pillow at the airport with the outside hope it might help me catch some z's. It's the only reason I got some sleep. When I awoke, the pillow was still full of air thanks to the brilliant valve design. Meanwhile, my husband's old school, beach ball valve pillow was almost flat.
Too much neck pressure November 4, 2007 Diastologist (Riverdale, NY USA) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought the Eagle-Creek inflatable pillow for air travel. It seemed to be well made with excellent inflation valve. However, the two arms that support the neck come together (within 1 inch of each other) and this squeezes the front of the neck. As a cardiologist, I am wary of anything compressing the anterior neck. Depending on the individual's anatomy, this can compress the jugular veins or, more serious yet, press on the carotid bodies which can cause a fall in blood pressure and evn fainting. I recommend a minor re-design such that the pillow makes a U shape - open in front, rathen than constricting around the neck.
soft and comfy November 10, 2006 Baby Star (Virginia) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Bought this pillow for a long trip. Gave good support while trying to catch some z'. The fleece cover is very soft on the face and neck. It is easy to blow up and deflate. When not in use, the deflated pillow is compact and easy to store in luggage. Eagle Creek always rules.
Huge difference June 15, 2007 M. M. Jackson (St. Petersburg, FL United States) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This pillow, while I have nothing to compare it to, made my transatlantic trip a sleepytime affair. Very nice. Slept nice. Not perfect, you have to sleep straight up, but very comfortable and supported! All that matters is the zzz's. Very good in that regard, perfect.
Comfy May 12, 2007 Lizard S. Leaping (Nashville, TN) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I was a little worried with durability after reading other reviews already posted but, I've found nothing worrying so far. I love the nice color...it's a crisp green that reminds me of the little tree frogs we have around here--and it's a cozy cover. I also really like the simple design for inflation and deflation. You blow it up with about 4 deep breaths and then if it's too hard/full then you gently push the little plastic flap to deflate the pillow. It'll take you about 4 uses before you figure out the exact amount of air you need for a comfy neck. The only disappointment I can find is the size of the pillow when it's totally deflated. It is a little bulky with the cover left on, and would take up about the space of a regular sized paperback novel in your carry on. So, you can always take the cover off when packing and then put it back on when you're ready to use it. I've used it to support my neck while reading in bed and was so comfy I fell asleep about 10 words in.
