It does work in the UK June 20, 2007 Dennis Cress (Berkeley, CA) 17 out of 19 found this review helpful
We've used this adapter in Scotland, England and France. Some of the UK outlets require you to first insert the flat plastic fork you see in the illustration photo in a vertical slot just below the two round holes before plugging in the adapter. Even so, there were some stubborn outlets we couldn't make it work in, but always at least one in which it would work.
Very portable and versatile May 27, 2007 Ed Kohler (Minneapolis, MN USA) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
I used this in Croatia, Slovenia, and Amsterdam to charge my digital camera's battery and it worked great. It's small, and all one part, so you don't have to worry about losing adapter plugs found on some other models.
Design is flawed October 3, 2007 Jesse Langanki (Minneapolis, MN USA) 12 out of 13 found this review helpful
Notice how the plugs flip up in the front? If you plug in something with any weight to it, for example a hair dryer plug, the weight causes it to fold down while plugged in. When this happens it creates sparks, and the plastic melted on mine rendering it inoperable.
Does not do voltage conversion November 12, 2007 J. Murphy (Richmond VA) 11 out of 19 found this review helpful
Amazon's description is misleading - it implies this product does voltage conversion, it does NOT. If you buy this, make sure your electrical items can use 110V or 220-240V.
Doesn't work for UK outlets June 16, 2007 Reluctant consumer (San Francisco, CA, USA) 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
All of my gadgets have A US style male AC plug but can accept voltages anywhere from 110 to 240 so I didn't need voltage step down just an adapter for various European outlets. The manual for this thing claims it could be used for UK style outlets but upon arriving I found that this wasn't true much to my annoyance. Did work fine in France though.
