When the mat arrived, I decided to wash it before using it. Their website said that it was machine washable, so I put it in my machine on the gentle cycle. Unfortunately, when I went to take it out, there was a long, shallow rip in one side of the mat. I've never had any problems with my washing machine ripping things in the past, so I'm pretty disappointed about this.

As my second yoga mat, this has been a very nice purchase. The best aspect of this mat is the thickness - I don't have to place another mat underneath. Although the comfort, thickness, and dry traction is great, the mat does become quite slippery when wet. Because of this, I recommend that you have a dry towel handy during moderate-to-intense yoga sessions. Overall, this mat really deserves a 4.5 stars rating.

It's is always better to have an extra thick yoga mat. For one, this provides more cushion to your joints making it much more enjoyable in your practice.

I read reviews & was a bit hesitant re smell. However, I ordered & am so glad. I'm only 5'4" but really appreciated the size--don't have to shift around so much between postures. I ordered burgundy, which is more of a muddy plum, & maybe the color dye has something to do with smell, cuz I don't find mine bad at all. It's just a tiny bit smelly with face to mat. But what does one expect with artificial materials? Only drawback is that it's more bulky due to size, and rolls to just short of 5" diameter, but the comfort is worth it. I've used for several months, & all is well. Buy & enjoy!
