Good for the price June 1, 2007 boreddusty (Pennsylvania, USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have used the snorkel twice since I purchased the set. Amazon shipped the product very quickly. Everything seems to work well. The flippers seem to be pretty sturdy and seem like they will be able to take quite a bit of abuse. The mask is the one piece that I had problems with. It does not obstruct your view, but it does seem difficult to keep the strap tight on your head when you put it on, causing water to seep in when you first enter the water and the pressure changes. If you attempt to tighten the strap it eventually works its way loose. If you inhale through your nose you can keep enough suction to keep the water out, however. Other than that it seems like a great snorkel set for a beginner.

I bought this last year for $25 bucks on amazon right before my honeymoon. We've been using it for over a year and took it all over. Other than some scratches from the coral it's in great shape. I think this is a great kit, and i can't see myself needing to upgrade.
U.S. Divers Cozumel Seabreeze Dry Proflex II Mask, Fins and Snorkel Set February 10, 2008 Alex Brok 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My girlfriend and I both bought the same sets, but different fins size and tested them in Puerto Rico in January, 2008. Unfortunately, the results were not great. The fins were pretty good - the handle is very convenient to hold on to the fins when you take them off during strong waves, but the sizes were a little off for me. I have size 10.5, but the large fins hardy fit. If your foot is a little wide, or not standard then you might have some slight problems. Altogether, the fins were ok. The masks were bad. Even though, they claim it fits variety of the faces, in fact, I tried two masks and they both leaked no matter what we tried to do and how we tried to tighten them. One of the masks was better than the other, even though they should be identical. This suggests that their production quality is not consistent. The mask strap was horrible, it never held. It was just made from cheap plastics and rubber. Anyway, for this price I don't know if there is anything of good quality. I will keep the fins and buy the new higher quality masks.
Great Snorkel Set for an Incredible Price March 30, 2008 busterjonez (Berkeley, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is actually three products in one, and each deserves its own review. Mask: The Plastic Clips on the sides that hold the strap allow you to tighten the mask easily while wearing it. The lens is clear and hard, very good visibility. The mask did leak a little through the bottom near my nose, but I have a mustache that I believe was actually responsible for the minor leakage. Clearing the mask of a bit of water was very easy; water from the nose portion doesn't leak into the lens portion. ProTip: If you spit in the mask and swish it around without water, you don't have to buy anti-fog. Just swirl it about with your fingers without any water for about a minute. Rinse the mask and repeat once, and you will be fog free for hours of snorkeling. Snorkel: Great snorkel. A super value included in the package. The blowout valve on the bottom works wonderfully. The splash guard made clearing the snorkel a relatively rare occurrence. The guard also makes it impossible for the snorkel to fall out of the clip while attached to the mask. Fins: Worked very well. These are warm water fins, you would be unable to wear wet suit booties with them. They got the job done quite well. A hidden bonus was that the hydrodynamic shape (holes in the fins) make them especially easy to carry while walking along. I use a size 11.5-12 shoe and ordered XL. They fit very well, not too loose and not too tight. If you are going for an entry level snorkel set, pick it up. Awesome value!
PVC out gassing smell aggravated my sinus's. Couldn't use snorkel and mask. April 28, 2008 Tim Lookingbill (New Braunfels, TX. USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I would advise paying the extra money for the silicone versions of this product line. This particular form of softened PVC=(PolyVinylChloride) in this US Divers model line gives off a noxious, irritating plastic smell. It's also known to cause health issues when exposed to it for an extended period of time especially around the mouth, nose and eyes and you couldn't get any closer with a PVC snorkel and mask. Check its MSDS and Wikipedia's info on phthalate plasticizers to soften PVC on the web if you have any concerns. Don't know if that's what's causing the irritating smell. I couldn't use the mask and snorkel so I basically paid $30 at Target for the use of the fins, but the Proflex II's were too flimsy and tired me out quickly. I returned the Proflex II kit to Target. Got the Trek package at Walmart figuring the PVC smell would be less an issue. It was worse, but the Trek fins were excellent. Check out my review of those here. So now I'm taking that US Divers kit back and getting just the Trek fins at $17.
