One of the most informative books of our time. Excellent dicussion of injuries and prevention of injuries. I would reccommend it to anybody who runs, does any sports, or just wants to stay knee safe. A+ in my book.

3 out of 5 stars Readable knee book, but poor or lack of images   March 9, 2006

I found this book helpful, but dissappointing because the author could have made his explanations much clearer with the help of (coloured) pictures.

I think this is a great starter book about the knee and injuries! The author has written the book so anybody can understand their knee problem! In fact, I was able to help friend at work understand her sprained LCL!

5 out of 5 stars A must-have for athletes and other active people   November 5, 2003

I had a skiing accident last winter which left me with a bum knee. This is the first book that I have found that actually addressed all my needs. It extensively explained (in ways my doctor couldn't) how my problem should be dealt with and ways it could be treated. It looks like I'll be back on the slopes this winter.

5 out of 5 stars Great Especially If You're Considering Surgery   March 9, 2007

I'm planning on ACL surgery in two weeks and I picked up several books yesterday. This is the most useful of the three. The Chapter on Preparing for Surgery is very good. It provides questions you might want to discuss with the doctor, what to expect and things to do ahead of time to prepare (lay in a stock of your favorite food, duct tape and hefty bags to waterproof . I would never have thought about half of these things, and they make a lot of sense! And there's a section on how to use crutches, which those of us who have been healthy until now have never had to think about. For me, these were worth the price of the book.
