easy to use February 11, 2008 This product is easy to use. It is a great way to find out how much energy your personal electronics are using around the house. I only wish it had a lighted display, because some of the places I plugged it in were too dark to read the display. Have a flash light handy if you are going to use this model.
Awesome February 13, 2008 Michael Man this thing rocks, especially the kwh over time feature. It can keep track of how many kw have beens used while keeping track of time (starting at when it started to receive current / was plugged in). Fun just to play around with in the house.
Like it but some issues February 13, 2008 Lantana Al (Lantana, TX USA) The unit is inexpensive and useful. I'd give it 5 stars except: 1) loses data (KWH and hours) when power is lost, 2) bulky - should come with a short cord to make it easy to use and handle. I'm looking into the P4460 which does not lose data when power is lost.
Works perfect ! February 14, 2008 B. Starr (USA) This item will tell you how much power your appliances are using. It very simple to compute. Just plug it in for 24 hours and measure the total KWH for a 24 period. Take the result and multiply by your KWH Rate on your electric bill and that will give you the daily cost.
This device paid for itself in one month! February 17, 2008 Rick TC (San Diego) The Kill-a-Watt gave me a clearer understanding of my home power usage and even in my small apartment found new ways to save on my power bill. This is a must-have if you want to know if you should buy the new compact flourescent bulbs, how much you computer uses if you leave it on, or need to convince your roommate or signifcant other to turn off the portable heater! Just as important, I learned what things draw little power or just aren't run long enough to matter. It is very easy to use as long as you are comfortable with using a calculator. (I suspect most people considering buying this product probably are!) If not, P3 makes a more expensive model that does all the math for you. I can't wait until summer to try it on my room air conditioner!
