Great Blower - not great vac September 11, 2007 GDV (Maryland, USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
The blower function of the Toro Ultra is great (though don't use it around mulch!!!) The vac feature doesn't suck (but that's not a complement). You have to get right over the leaves/debris that you are trying to get rid of, and they have to be pretty lightweight (i.e leaves from hedge clippings are sometimes a bit too much). It works; it's just not nearly as good as the blower function, which is quite powerful and less noisy than the gas blower that I have. Overall a very good purchase (though I wish it were cordless).
Would purchase again!!! September 20, 2007 J. Thompson (California) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I find the Toro blower/vac easy to handle. Especially like the multispeed function. With the low speed, able to pick up leaves on small bark without also vacuuming up the bark. Only caution, check that switch is at zero before plugging to electricity. Very satisfied with product...J. Thompson, Benicia, CA
It definitely sucks! (in a good way) October 15, 2007 Dennis E. Pipper (Okemos, MI USA) 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I bought this based on the fabulous reviews and the fact that I had to replace my major retail store brand (gas powered) blower/vac. At first, I thought gas is for "real men" and electric, well... But this little electric blower/vac works great and has the power of my previous gas powered machine. I like how easy it converts from vac to blower and back. This is huge! It takes only seconds and no tools are required to make the change. Again, other models require more work than necessary to make this adjustment. It takes good care of the leaves, even wet ones and I have a lot of them. Using the electric blower takes away the gas/oil smell and muck from my clothing. Plus, it is light enough my 9 year old son can use it (and I'll convince him to use it). The cord gets in the way sometimes, but you get used to it, even after years of using a gas blower/vac. I have never had any trouble with this machine and have had it since Fall 2007. It is a wise purchase and a good quality product from a major manufacturer. Other companies should make products this good at a great price point. The metal impeller in this model sucks up lots of materials without worry. With a metal impeller, you don't have to worry about it breaking/chipping off. The variable speed control is nice and very rarely do I have to turn it up full throttle. I truly enjoy taking care of the leaves now. This is a great value for anyone looking for an electric blower/vac, now I just need to get a longer cord...
lackluster vacuum October 10, 2007 Y (NY, NY) 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
Pretty good, powerful blower. Very average vacuum, have to get right over the leaves to suck them up, so cleaning up a mow and trim still takes a while. I like not having to deal with gas/oil, but the cord is a pain. I would easily pay double for a cordless model even if it was slightly heavier.
perfect October 10, 2007 BSKs Dad (MD) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Was looking for an inexpensive, light electric or battery blower. Tried battery models - all lousy. This blower is excellent. It's light, quiet and has variable speed (very nice). Also seems very well made. Good choice.
