5 out of 5 stars LOVE THEM (AND CHILD DOES TOO)   August 8, 2008
Mother Brown
I got these for my 4 yr old girl's birthday. I knew *I* would like them; I always like building things. I hesitated, though, because they are supposed to be for daughter not me, and because they are super-expensive, and my daughter usually has only moderate interest in construction-type toys, like lego and bricks; I am usually more interested in building than she is. But these tiles are wonderful, and we both love them equally. When we first opened them and started building, she said she wanted to build all night long. She is very interested in tiny figures (little dogs, Playmobil and Polly Pocket figures); and with Magna tiles, one can make an amazing colorful palace, in which each tiny figure can have his or her own apartment. Love it! The translucent set is definitely the way to go, because then the little figures can look out of their colorful windows, and be seen from outside. I can also see that this toy will grow with her, there are lots of ways to play with it. Great toy! -- I would actually recommend it to anybody thinking of buying a castle or palace for a child. This does a lot of the same goodness, and then some.

5 out of 5 stars Glad We Got Them   August 24, 2008
Michael L. Graham
My wife and I took our grandkids to the Museum of Technology and Innovation in San Jose, CA and they had some of these blocks. My grandkids absolutily loved them. They did not want to go on to see the rest of the museum. We also came back to the blocks before we left, so it was not hard to decide to get them a set. They play with them every day making all kinds of things. Get them you won't be sorry.

5 out of 5 stars Magna-Tiles Translucent Building Set   September 19, 2008
Grani Jane (Boca Raton, FL)
My three & five year old grandaughters have so much fun playing together with this fabulously creative magnetic tile building set. After discovering these wonderful magnetic tiles at a friend's home they begged for a set of their own. The 100 piece Translucent Magna-Tile set has enough pieces for them to share while keeping them entertained for hours on end. It's great for kids and the kid in me too. Magna-Tiles Translucent Colors 100 piecesMost highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Best toy we've ever purchased   October 4, 2008
B. Butterfield (Portland, ME)
We are going on one year of owning the 100 piece set and my 2 sons (now 6 and 3) have played with them almost every day. When the younger guy was 2, he just layed them flat on the floor in patterns, but within a few weeks he had quickly learned how to create 3 dimensional shapes. I think Valtech should have a some photo contests, because I'd love to submit some of his feats of architecture! The six year old mostly makes condominiums for his cars and alien space ships. They are beloved in this family and I'm buying my second set!!

5 out of 5 stars My boys' favorite toy   October 6, 2008
The boys love to build all sorts of shapes, then smash them and start again. It really teaches problem solving, and creativity, because they continually try new and bigger things.
