This is a very nice set of just bricks--no extra "fancy" pieces. The price was much cheaper than purchasing bulk bricks at the lego website.
If your child likes to build, this is the set for you.

I have a son heavily into legos. He wanted more basic pieces and I found this. This was definitely worth the money. Excellent collection to have. It came in a nice plastic bin with see through lid. He got it for Christmas and was very happy! Just as happy as when he saw the Lego Castle!!

This is a great starter set. My boys have been having a lot of fun building w/ them. I also love that they come as just the plain old set, instead of having to build a certain theme. It lets the kids be creative!

My grandsons have been Lego fans as long as I can remember. They actually travel with a large container of Legos. We added to their collection at Christmas with this product and they were thrilled. While they visited us, they built reinforced castles from opposing warlords and had huge battles right on our family room floor. If imagination is educational (can anyone argue with that?) this is a great thing for kids. Beats the heck out of the thumb workout they would get from the video stuff.

Quite a lot of building blocks. Enough to keep a child's imagination going for hours. Strong parts, bright colors and many different shapes are great.
