Great Workout! February 1, 2008 Melissa Pitts (Powder Springs, GA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It took me almost two weeks to complete this workout completely but it's worth it. I've being doing it for three weeks and I can already see results. Don't get discouraged the first time you do it, it's rather hard for a beginner. Just keep the tape rolling and take breaks when you need to. If you stick with it, you will get results!
I LOVE this workout! March 31, 2008 Penny Lane (UK) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm glad I took the advice of the many great reviews on Amazon and bought this video (used.) It's a great, effective workout with substance, and easy to stick with. You often don't find this in more recent workout DVD's. I'd say it's one of the best workout tapes I own. It works every muscle in your thighs and butt, plus some ab work. Some of the moves are excruciatingly hard, but it's working when you feel the burn. The workout is safe, easy on your back and joints, and doesn't require complicated dance moves (lucky for me, I'm so uncoordinated!) I know it's really cheesy, made in 1987 with it's 80's music, headbands, legwarmers, the guy with Jheri curl in his hair, full makeup and mall hair on the girls, but that's what I love about it. Between that and hearing, "Reach for the stars!" and Greg Smithey's other cheesy ecouragements, you can LAUGH your butt off while blasting your glutes. Otherwise, just turn down the sound and listen to your IPod. I'm going to have to have this converted to a DVD.
How are we supposed to like this video? June 21, 2000 0 out of 25 found this review helpful
What is this video doing? Oh, the 80s music was great! NOT. The instructor was GREAT! NOT. GO to the 8 minute things cause those are waaay better, you don't get some instructor in a skimpy outfit with bad clothes. A bit dated is right! It's all about style
Hard, but fun June 11, 1999 I hadn't realized how out of shape I was until I followed along with this video. At first, there were many exercises I simply couldn't complete, but I made sure to keep moving, and stick with it till the end. The 52 minutes go by quickly. The best part about this video is that the exercises are easy to figure out. I normally hate aerobics, but the aerobic warm up here is simple and gets the heart pumping right away. Greg Smithey is friendly and encouraging. I like the ordinary-looking people behind him who are able to keep up without grimacing in pain; that gave me hope for myself. You WILL feel the burn while doing these exercises, but just keep trying and do the best YOU can. They will eventually get easier, and you'll like the results.
hard and humorous December 16, 1999 kim amadon (Portland, Maine) I began using buns of steel about a year and a half ago, encouraged by my then roomate who was a B.O.S finatic. At first it was so hard and I felt like I was extremely out of shape. But, within months my roomate and I added 5lb. leg weights and used them through out the whole video. We both had a great time with it and found it hilarious to name all the characters (the russian dancer, the 70's clown, and Chuck Norris). I have moved out and live 3000 miles away. So, after trying to stay steady with a gym membership, I am ordering my very own copy of B.O.S
