5 out of 5 stars Wonderful "Must have" for any young family's video library!   September 1, 1999

This video is by far my two-year old's favorite. She has watched it so many times, she has almost all the lines memorized. (I turn the Closed Caption on and say the words as each character speaks. She loves watching me pretend to be Barny, Lambchop, or any of the other characters.)

It's a great video, because it teaches important values in an entertaining way. Her vocabulary has also been enhanced by watching this. I have recommended it to all my friends with toddlers.

This video is the best one for kids to learn about choices. I also reccomend another program that teaches you to make choices. It's called Nana Puddin'. This is a great video.

I have a toddler and I spend a significant time watching all her video collections with her. Kids for character is the best video I have seen for kids and happens to be my little girl's favorite. She watches it 3 times a day! It teaches kids how to grow up as a responsible, sensible and socially aware individual. It inspires parents like my husband and me on how to bring up our little one the proper way. It is indeed a teaching tool for parents on how to rear up their children. Lastly, kids learn a great deal of virtues from watching it.

5 out of 5 stars A MUST FOR ANY HOME OR SCHOOL VIDEO LIBRARY   July 15, 1999

Parenting is the hardest, yet most rewarding, job on this planet. Unfortunately, our children didn't come with an instruction manual. As parents, we do our best to raise children to be responsible, caring adults. While there is no substitute for a parent's example, finding books, videos, and music that inspire our children to be better people makes parenting a little easier. Produced by the Character Counts Coalition, a national partnership of leading education and youth development groups, "Kids for Character" is a video that helps young people learn the difference between right and wrong and promotes six core ethical values: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship. With nearly 30 beloved children's characters, including Barney, Barbar, and Magic School Bus, "Kids for Character," uses humor and songs to entertain, yet educate, even the youngest viewer about the importance of a strong character. Even after multiple viewings, my five-year-old loves to watch "Kids for Character" and I'll never tire of the message it's sending him. Along with the video comes an informative parent guide with follow-up activities, discussions, and explanations. In addition, I received a bonus audio cassette which included four of the songs featured in the video and a lyrics sheet. The songs are exactly what the tastes of so many elementary-age children demand musically, and what we, as parents, want them to hear lyrically. The whole family will be tapping their toes when listening. "Kids for Character" is a MUST for any any home or school video library!
