5 out of 5 stars A Must for Simpsons fans   January 4, 2004

This game is all that a Simpsons fan could possibly want. The game is based around strange things going on in Springfield. There are crop circles, strange surveillance vans and giant wasps which roam Springfield.

Level 1 begins with Homer in Everyday Nice Springfield. It's sunny, and features common landmarks like Kwik E Mart, and the School as well as the Simpsons house and Power Plant.

Level 2 is with Bart and is set in really the centre of Springfield - more the industrial side. There, you can visit Moe's, the DMV and the Jebediah Statue. As well as driving on the Matlock expressway!

Level 3 is with Lisa and is by the lake, or sea whatever. There is a sunset, and you can go in the lighthouse, and observatory and the Comic book shop too!

Level 4 is like Level 1, only with Marge - and it is at night. Here- you can also go in Mr. Burns Mansion and also Barts Room.

Level 5 is with Apu and is similar to Level 2 only once again with different l;andmarks.

Level 6 is with Bart, and once again is like Level 3 however features more places like Mr. Burns Office.

Level 7 is known to be the best by most people. It features Homer in Everyday Springfield like in Level 1.

There are 7 Collector Cards in each Level. If you get them all, you'll unlock a mini racing multiplayer game - but dont be fooled because they are not good.

You can also buy new special clothes and vehicles for each character on each level using coins. To get onto the next Level you have to Complete Missions, howveer you can skip them if you fail them several times, as some are quite difficult. But - if you just want a roam around Springfield, you can do that too! tHERE IS a bonus mission on each level to unlock a bonus vehicle also, and three races on each level - which are hard but will earn a bonus vehicle.

On each level there is also a bonus vehicle hidden. Like a rocket car, a Monorail cart, Nightboat, an ATV, A Monster Truck, a Pink Cadillac etc. if you're a Simpsons fan you'll love the gags - but be sure to love thoroughly because they're easy to miss!

PS, Graphics are pretty good, and each level is a lot bigger than you would expect!

AND FINALLY - in my opinion - the best thing about this game is all the realistic dialogue and music. It really feels like you're in Springfield!

5 out of 5 stars Addictive, Funny and With Great 3-D Graphics!   June 4, 2004

My partner and I treated ourselves to an X-Box last Christmas, and, being Simpsons fans and seeing the cool-looking commercials for this game, bought THE SIMPSONS: HIT AND RUN as one of our first games. So far, this is still the only X-Box game I've played. I just went back to playing it after an absence of three months, and I couldn't put it down for SEVEN hours! I love the missions, plus the bonus races that win you extra vehicles for your use. I love running over things for coins, which you can collect and use to buy vehicles, wardrobe changes, etc! Of course, there is plenty of exploring of sights, sounds and other numerous gags within each level that adds to your experience. I love the alternating of characters you play. You start out as Homer in the first level, switch to Bart in the second and then to Lisa in the third. (That's where I'm up to as of this writing!) I love the irreverently funny tone of the game, just like the TV show. Let's face it, this game is *a lot* of fun!

The first missions are not easy, and they get more difficult as you go along. Right now, I'm stuck on the one where you have to knock 15 slabs of 'flatmeat' (roadkill) out of Cletus' pickup truck by repeatedly slamming into him. It may not sound hard, but you have to do all this within a two-minute period! The graphics on X-Box are extremely sharp, and it is an absolute joy to play. Eventually, I will get around to playing ENTER THE MATRIX, THE NEED FOR SPEED UNDERGROUND, PROJECT GOTHAM, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS and THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RETURN OF THE KING which we also have. No question about it, THE SIMPSONS HIT AND RUN gives you a lot of gameplaying hours, and is even more fun than watching the TV show! [Warning: May Result in Calloused Thumbs!]

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

4 out of 5 stars Really Fun Game!   November 7, 2003

My nephew played this game at a friends house. He said it was a really fun game, and then he reminded me that he has an XBOX. An obvious hint that he wanted me to buy it for him, I did. If a teen thinks it is fun, that is good enough for me. I know this is not your ordinary review. It is just my opinion.

4 out of 5 stars multiplayer is a lie   November 11, 2003

the rest of the game seems fun so far, but the multiplayer is a joke - you can't play the regular game multiplayer, only certain subgames that need to be unlocked by regular gameplay... so, don't buy it for the multiplayer.
