Nice, but a little uncomfortable. November 7, 2006 David Shamma (San Francisco, CA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a great case. It surrounds the PSP and leaves you places to plug stuff in and reach the power switch. Most of the reviews cover this. I decided to tell you other things. 1) The case adds some bulk to the sleek psp. It's to be expected for a hard shell case. 2) The case has hard edges when open. Makes it a little uncomfortable to play for long periods of time within the case. See #3. 3) The PSP rests in the case. So you can easily take it out -- actually it will fall out. Depending on your opinion this can be good or bad. I like it - means I can (and usually do) play outside the case and easily drop it in the case when I'm done to throw it in my Timbuk2. 4) You'll probably still want one of those plastic film screen protectors, just to be safe. 5) The top opens back and stands up on a table (perfect for in flight movies!) 6) During playback, the top can somewhat get in the way, again, depending on how you like to play. All this said, my rating is a little deduction for the slight discomfort during playing.
Pocket? I don't think so. February 15, 2007 Paul 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
I'm a pretty careful person. I wasn't too worried about my PSP getting banged up when playing games or transporting it. What I really wanted was a case to protect it when I use my PSP as an mp3 player. I figured since this case has open corners I could plug my headphones in and shove the psp in my pocket to listen to mp3s. Sure, it does a good job of keeping the case and screen from getting damaged while it sits in my pocket. However, there are two major problems with using it this way. First of all, with the shoulder buttons exposed they're still just as likely to accidentally get pressed as they are without the case. This means the thing will still jump tracks like crazy if I do anything more jostling that sitting completely still. Even worse though is that all the face buttons (the d-pad, the right thumb buttons, and all the little buttons along the bottom edge) get pressed when you close the case. I guess the padding material presses pretty hard against these parts of the psp to keep it from shifting around. This means if you start playing your music and then close the case, who knows what's going to happen? Maybe it'll keep playing, maybe the volume will turn way up or way down, or maybe it'll just stop. Sure, the case protects the PSP. But it also makes it unusable when completely closed. Maybe a case like that doesn't really exist, but I'll keep looking.
Great Item February 25, 2007 Chris Pinto (Long Beach Township, NJ United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have this for my PSP and its a great item. The latch takes a little to get used to;but does its job. A few drawbacks though: Adds a little weight to the PSP. Cant store games in the case But good for storing in a backpack or keeping it safe from damage in your house. Recommended.
The best case. Period. April 4, 2007 Scotty (Pa, USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This case is the absolute best item you can buy for your PSP. It is extremely durable, despite having an open top for the L/R triggers. They are protected(I should know-dropped my psp over 4 feet onto concrete-case is scratched but the PSP is perfect). caveat: Buy a screen protector and USE IT before placing the PSP in this case. The rubber gasket inside will rub a bit in the screen(especially if you drop your unit...)
Good PSP case!! May 20, 2007 Tina (Tampa, FL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
If you're looking for a good case for your PSP, this is it. I think any case (whether hard like this one or a soft one) is a necessary accessory to have when you buy a PSP. I use this case when I'm traveling. Although a soft case would work in my situation as well, I HAVE accidentally dropped my PSP while it was in this case and my PSP had absolutely no scratches or anything wrong with it thanks to this case. My absolute favorite thing about this case is that you have the ability to turn it into a "stand" where you can have your PSP sitting in a 45 degree angle in the case so that you can watch movies if you'd like. Also, you have the ability to play with your PSP while it's in the case. I think everyone should have a case for their PSP simply to protect it from scratches and falls. A hard case is more durable than a soft one and will protect it much better than a soft one. If you're trying to decide whether or not to buy one of these, figure in the cost it would be to replace your PSP if it got dropped and damaged. I would highly recommend this case to all PSP owners!
