Daughters Delight January 19, 2008 D. Smith 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was a bit skeptical at first when I ordered this game, but my six year old daughter cannot keep away from it. It is very age appropriate and has tasks that can be difficult for her, but she has been able to do just fine. If you are a disney fanatic and your daughter is too, this is a perfect game for all.
Defective Game + Unhappy Daughter = Sour Daddy February 6, 2008 W. Morgan (Tennesse) 1 out of 6 found this review helpful
My wife purchased this game for our daughter's birthday in January. She picked it up on a whim and I *almost* took it back due to spotty reviews and the repeated mention of of short the game is. Well... the game was *very* short for us as it is completely broken. The game becomes unplayable anytime there is a point in the game where you need to use the wiimote as a pointer. This makes the game basically impossible to play at certain points. When you use the wiimote to point at the screen the cursor jumps and flickers and is impossible to control. This makes mini-games like the Sebastian/Octopus one COMPLETELY UNPLAYABLE. In fact it is seemingly impossible to get out of the mini-game. It's only the pointing part that is broken as the 'Wand' use of the wiimote is perfect. My daughter was upset she couldn't play the game - but I told her I would take it back and get her another (less buggy) one but of course the local ---mart where we bought it wouldn't take it back 'Because of copyright laws'. This is absurd... how could you know a game is hopelessly buggy without opening it? I am going to be contacting Disney Interactive and a higher level of Customer Service in an effort to get a refund for this frustratingly broken game. It's sad Disney let such a buggy product get into the hands of the public and infuriating that you can be told 'Sorry you bought a buggy product but you're stuck with it'. The game had lots of promise and the voice work and graphics were nice enough to wow my girl... too bad the controls render the rest of the game useless. I rated the game's fun factor a 1 because we never will know if it's much fun ... and the overall as 1 because it has a game-breaking bug.
A fun game for little ones February 27, 2008 L. Yates 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Obviously this game isn't for older kids but my 4 and 6 year old daughters love it. They have fun creating their princesses and doing magic with their wands. They've played through the entire game a couple of times now & still want to play it again. Bottom line, it was worth it because they have so much fun playing.
Fantastic game for your young girl March 8, 2008 William S. Porter Jr. (Livonia, MI United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this game as a gift for my daughter. I'm a long time gamer myself and I have found this to be one of the most well-crafted children's games available. I even went out of my way to e-mail the game developer and let them know what a great experience our family had with it. There are more than a few things the developer did right that make this game easily accessible to the children (mine is 4): careful placement of the gems in the environment lead to important objectives and location, forgiving Wii controls for the wand, enemies that go down without too much of a fight, goals that are verbally spoken and gently repeated at certain intervals to keep the player focused.. the list goes on. My daughter had an amazing time with game, and while I was always there to help coach, she was challenged without being frustrated. The only real disappointment to her came when the game ended and the 'bonus' area was simply a brief mini-game in Belle's Ballroom; she had really hoped to play a full level as Belle. I really can't recommend this game enough for your young girl, especially if she is a fan of the Princesses. She may require a little guidance at first, but the format of the game is easily grasped. The game will surely help build her confidence and puzzle solving abilities as well as encourage exploration of a 3-D environment, one of the things I think my daughter finds most challenging with modern games (3-D navigation, I mean.) I don't regret the full price purchase one bit, if you can get it for less a purchase is a no-brainer. Have fun!
For your little Princess May 18, 2008 D. Proctor (Pleasant View, TN USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this for my daughter's 4th birthday. We've had the Wii for 4 months, and she loves to play, but has trouble with many of the games. It's hard for her to use both hands. This game allowed me to do the movement with the nunchuck while letting her do the wand motions. She had trouble with that sometimes and needed help. We did the whole game together, and are now doing it 2 player, so she can learn to move the character also. Once we finish together, I suspect she'll be ready to go it alone. I wouldn't let my 6 year old son play it until dd and I finished once. He was quite jealous, but has now gotten through most of it also. This was great for her first Wii game.
