Call of Duty 4 PS3 Review November 11, 2007 James Casey (Delaware, OH USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is one of the best FPS titles around, still with its errors it still shines throughout the crowd of games that would even make Halo 3 start to sweat. Single-Player campaign spans from an Arabic country where you play as a USMC soldier fighting a terrorist army uprising that seized control of the country to Russia where you play as an SAS soldier figuring out that the events in Russia and the Arabic country are tied together somehow. Graphically its very impressive with excellent sound with guns firing to the music competition playing. Gameplay is very very intense with very few moments of peace unless its a sneaking mission. Multiplayer wise is great, either playing online multiplayer Playstation Network or playing on split-screen local play or System Link LAN play, you get one of the best FPS Multiplayer games around. The interface is user friendly but it has some minor problems with networking and some of the interface. There are tons of maps to be played on and with tons of ranks to unlock that will bring you new abilities, weapons, and new challenges. The Create-A-Class feature is also interesting since your basically creating a class you like. Overall the game is worth it a buy for any FPS fan but casual gamers might want to rent the game to see how it is first. Campaign is great but Multiplayer side can be worked on alot with the network issues going on. Still its one of the best PS3 games around to own.

This is the best game i played since gears of war this is simply Electrifing although the single player is a bit short Less then 7 hours but if u got internet for ur Ps3 BUY IT STOP READING AND JUST BUY IT!! i cant express myself how fun this game is on multiplayer i spend a whole day playing this game with friends online and im not a someone that plays video games for more then 2 hours. But this game has the graphics the gameplay and the weapons that are amazing that its addicting getting higher in ranks so u can unlock all the weapons and all the multiplayer modes. But overall its EXCELLENT A MASTERPIECE!!. This game is a must buy although the verry dissapointless thing is that u dont get to drive vehicles or tanks thats the only downfall but overall Excellent its a must buy grab a car and drive to the store NOW!
Nuclear Arms for Everyone......SCARY Thought! November 18, 2007 A. Torres (jersey city) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just the thought of All out Nuclear War blowing out of control is scary as hell. COD4 totally engrosses you in a storyline that revolves around the sales and launch of nuclear arms, and what the British SAS and The Marine Corp does to stop it. If you take a minute and think about the storyline and the scene of a Nuclear bomb goin off in the game, you got to wonder if these are issues troops are currently battling around the world. Pretty scary how the game mimics real life but enough about that. The all out atmosphere of war in this game is realistic beyond anything I've seen. Warfare through the streets is incredible with Terrorists utilizing their cover to gain advantage over you. Walls are torn down, Bullets are zipping past you from all angles and going through walls, Enemies handling RPG's tryin to hit you from rooftops, Enemy's letting their canines after you, fellow troops are dropping like flies or running left and right to find cover from the bullets. Combat in the country side levels is realistic also, with the feeling of wide open space, but with the worry's of getting sprung up on with out notice. The games diffulty even on regular and the amount of enemies coming towards gives you no choice but to think like a military man, take cover like a military man, and take the right advantage to advance like a military man. Some of the levels will feel like your going to be held up on one spot forever because of the amount of enemies shooting at you. I realized that after you have picked off enough enemies in an area where your pinned down the enemy respawn rate will slow down a bit and you will be able to advance to another spot but do it quickly before the system speeds up again. Moments like these represent what troops go through in Iraq, you've got to wonder if the firefights through the city streets are this intense in real life, cuz I tell you one thing it wasnt easy going through the games levels. A.I. is incredible compared to other games. The enemy has a mind of their own, tactics of their own. They will Duck, Run from cover area to cover area, throw grenades at you when you and troops are holed up together, Blind fire above hiding spots and around the corners of walls, melee you when they have a chance, and at times try and find a way to get you when you least expect it. AI from your teammates is pretty spot on-They will do the same exact thing that the enemy does but, they will go as far and call out positions of the enemy, they will take initiative and move up when allowed the chance, and lob grenades everywhere. War is a team thing and your squadmates wont even move to next checkpoint unless you move up first. You can't call out any orders and in every level you have someone leading you and barking orders. Calling Orders would have been a great addition with a headset in this game but i feel voice recognitions in games need alot more improvement to make it more life like and responsive. Only game that did Ok that I know with VR is SOCOM. Even if that were to be implemented the games levels and goals to accomplish would need to be more spread out and much more complicated to give Voice Recognition a good testing in firefights. Graphically, this game is a classic Masterpeice. The city streets and the way they are littered with Dust, rubble, metal barrels, garbage dumpsters, torn down walls, bullet riddin walls, beds on floors, T.V.s, broken mirrors, bathrooms, it's as if life was once teeming in these areas but now they are run-down war-torn areas. The country-side levels are just pure eye candy. The Trees are numerous, Rocks look like real rocks you would see on a mountain side, and the grass is as if each peice was created seperately to move with the wind, Tree trunks are as if you were standing in front of one. Everything in this game is a sight to behold. Now this is this pure power of a CELL PROCESSOR....regardless i still think it can do better. Gameplay I'd have to agree is incredible, responsive, and the game is short. No replay value on the game itself, but multiplayer I'm pretty sure is what gives it the replay value. Sorry Ladies and Gents haven't gotten down to Multiplayer yet no access to NET to give you a opinion on that. Just the single player itself makes me want to play it again. To be honest when it comes to FPS's im not a multiplayer kind of guy, kinda suck at FPS's in matches.....but practice makes perfect.
best of all C2D games December 10, 2007 markus farcus (the furthest planet from) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this game a few weeks ago and it is pretty good. The graphics are first rate and I don't even have a HD tv. The game play is pretty solid and the action is intense. I wish it had more missions and easier way to select the weapon you want. Otherwise, great game. Good one to have in your collection.

One of the best games ever... Fantastic graphics, amazing single (really short though)and multiplayer... Just be aware, if you don't play on line, you're losing 80% of the game...
