the guitar is crap October 30, 2007 Michael Garda (union city, NJ United States) 6 out of 15 found this review helpful
I won't waste my time re listing all the problems with the guitar controller, just read other's reviews. I love this game, but there is a definite lag and the controller took 20 minutes to hook up right.
Another Great installment of the Guitar hero franchise November 7, 2007 M. Haynes (KENNEWICK WA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
First off I want to say that after hearing alot of negative reviews I didn't seem to have the bad experiences alot of people did. It did take me a few minuets to hook up the guitar but after that everything was great. I love the guitar hero franchise and have been hooked ever since I played it. As for the 3rd installment and 1st for the PS3 I think they did a good job. I LOVE the new guitar. I really don't see the bad in it. It works great for me. To me it feels like a better quality than the GH2 version. I love the fact I don't have to shake the hell out of the guitar to get star power and I just flat out like how it looks. But just like Dino said in his review it does attract fingerprints. The best thing for the game however is the online play. It is a pain if you cant connect (happens more than it should and will probably get fixed with patches) but it makes it so much more fun to know that at anytime I can hop on and jam out with another person. And it makes the replay ability that much better. The one recurring negative theme of this game is the difficulty. On GH2 I was good enough to complete hard with but not good enough for expert. But with GH3 it is alot harder. I have already beat med with all 5 stars and im starting on hard and its exactly that HARD. As for the song choice I would still have to say GH2 was better but I do like the songs in GH3. There are a bunch of fun songs to play in GH3 (barracuda, one, rock it like a hurricane just to name a few)and thats the key word FUN. Really this game was everything I expected it to be. Great graphics, a nice choice of songs, better guitar and so the only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the difficulty is just a little to hard even for experienced players.
Some issues December 1, 2007 William L Johnson (Fairbanks, AK) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Be advised that there are still some bugs with the release on the PS3 format. Internet connectivity is an issue so don't expect a smooth experience there. It takes quite a few attempts of at least 2 dozen tries before you can connect to someone. There is only one guitar available and that is with the expensive game pack. Individual guitars will be released early next year. Don't expect Guitar Hero 2 wired guitars to play even with the adapter. Also, if you are interested in the new Rock Band, the Les Paul guitar (one included with GH3) will not work as of yet for Rock Band. Again, Rock Band has only one included guitar with expensive game pack and no individuals available until eary next year.
Waste of money December 26, 2007 Louis J. Boccia (Palisades Park, NJ United States) 4 out of 29 found this review helpful
I bought this game reading all the positive reviews, but this is a waste of $100. Unless you get the notes perfect every time not a little early or late, you fail the song. This is not fun. Very frustrating to say the least. The guitar doesn't even have strings.
Love this game lots of fun October 29, 2007 Marisela Gonzales 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
No sure what all these bad reviews are all about but I bought the game Sunday, went home and played for hours. Had some friends over and rhey could not put the guitar down. Would recommend to PS 3 owners
